Function: Utilizing various pressure points, Combination Bits offer simultaneous interaction of the mouthpiece, curb strap and noseband. When rein pressure is applied or released, the combination bit automatically disperses or releases direct action and leverage pressure to the horses mouth, chin, nose and poll. Pressure is spread between the four areas instead of mostly concentrated on the mouth as with traditional bits, allowing the rider to send a softer and kinder message. Light pressure is applied to the mouth as the mouthpiece slides on the ring. After contacting the "ring stop,” the mouthpiece will engage completely and apply more downward pressure. Also, the backward and downward pressure of the noseband and the forward pressure of the curb strap are extremely effective at asking a horse to relax at the poll. For custom fit the noseband can be softened in water and contoured to an individual horse’s nose. Size 5.5

The uses the comfort snaffle mouthpiece which acts on tongue and corners of the bars, gently wrapping lips, but the port gives more tongue relief when the bit is not engaged by the rider. Myler combination bits are often misunderstood and thought to be severe. The action of a Myler combination is to use up to 5 pressure points on the horses head as opposed to one or two that most conventional bits work on. This means the combination will give the rider superior control, without using excessive force in any one place which results in a much more relaxed and comfortable horse. Myler combinations can be useful to school horses in when they are normally ridden in a double bridle, as it encourages self carriage and natural lightness. The comfort snaffle low port mouth piece has a barrel in the centre to sit comfortably on the horses tongue, it has a low port to allow a bit (!) more room for the tongue.
