The Swales Pelham is designed to give control specifically for strong horses that are inclined to lean down. It is not suitable for a novice rider or a horse that does not fully understand the aids. This is the only Pelham that removes poll pressure as the cheeks are attached to the inner rings. This emphasises the action of the curb and exerts more pressure on the jaw causing the lifting action.

I no longer have a horse needing this bit. Fabulous for creating light vertical flexion in strong horses with a tendency to pull or lean on the hand.
