Details about Vintage Antique English Sterling Silver
Here is a ring box modelled in the form of a coal scuttle with the handle on the top. The front is decorated with the Reynold's Angels scene, five winged cherub or putti figures. The slanted front opens to reveal a single slot for a ring, the inside is lined in light grey-blue silk. The box is fully hallmarked on the back with the makers mark,design registration number, lion mark for sterling, anchor for Birmingham,and the letter for the year , it is also marked on the inside of the lip with the lion and date letter. The inside of the drop down lid retains its original gilding. The box measures " wide by 1-3/8" deep by 1-3/8" to the top of the handle.
