17" Parker Reversible Side Saddle Sidesaddle For Sale Medium

A reversible side saddle made by Parker Bros Saddlers in the early s from havana leather. The saddle was checked and restored in by side saddle specialist, Coralie Chung, who put new panels on it, a new overgirth (with double ended attachment for adjustment) and new point straps. Saddle has also had a new reversible safe made as the original one had been cut up. The saddle has an old patch repair done to the tip of the leaping head and other than that, the saddle is in show ready condition. The tree is sound and has a "hunting bar" but this was never meant to be hunting or jumping saddle and is quite lightweight so nice for a horse with a sensitive back. This park-style saddle is suitable for equitation, showing, dressage and hacking- no jumping. I have ridden on this saddle three times from buying it from the saddler last January who restored it, and have only done light schooling only on it but it just doesn't work for my new mare. The panels are still soft as they are new so will need to be adjusted by your saddler. I have only ridden offside on this saddle so a saddler will have to balance it if you want to swap sides or swap between near and offside. Roller bar fitting so will need a safety iron. Seat measures 17" from cutback to pommel or " from the front of the upright head to cantle. Seat measures about 12" across. I am 5'9" and a UK size 16 (US 14) and find this saddle comfortable. Dual sided tree is a good sound medium fit and will suit a horse with decent withers (TBs and TB crosses, this was slightly too wide for my old TB mare who took a narrow medium fit but fits my TB X ID mare who is slightly wider). Inside the gullet head measures just over 4 1/2" between the walls and 17" across the points. £ or offers for this rare saddle in a hard to find adult sized seat (most reversibles are child sized). Newly made OFF SIDE side saddle for a draft horse. The riders legs go to the right hand side. Size XW Tree, 18" diagonal points. 18"length of Seat, 14"width of seat. This saddle is for a very wide horse. I designed the tree to be flatter and broader to accommodate a true draft horse with no/minimal withers.  This one has a regular stirrup bar, with the counter part stirrup leather. A collaspable iron MUST be used. Imported leather with English sent metal parts, fine suede seat and pommels, wool flocking. This is a non jumping saddle. It is not reinforced enough to absorb the pressure a jumping side saddle demands. This saddle comes with an adjustable stirrup leather and balance strap. You will need to provide a safety iron and girth. I do sell draft girths, 60" upwards if needed, but you will have better idea what size to order once the saddle is on your horse. This was our first saddle, called the 'Malone'. I took them to Beta years ago, they have also appeared at the Side Saddle Nationals for the past 3 years. They are great starter saddles, but I am focusing on our European saddle now, which can be made for a draft horse, but these last few will not be continued. I bought it for a 16'2 warm blood but have also used it on a 14'2 New Forest X. We no longer have any ponies. I have had it re-flocked by a saddle fitter once and she confirmed that it is MW. This is a beautiful antique side saddle made by Champion and Wilton.  It is in desperate need of renovation as I have had it stored away in the loft for years.  It deserves some TLC! The seat measures 17.5 ins from the cut back head to the end of cantle.  It has a beautiful quilted seat which is in excellent condition.  The remainder of the leather work around the suede seat does have worm holes but all this leather work would require replacing.  The flap and pommels are in good order and the straps too with the exceptio9n of the near side strap which is alittle dry. This really is a lovely saddle but I will neverr get time to do anything about it so I have decided to sell it as it is taking up space! Please feel free to message me for further photographs or measurements. I dont mind viewing and the saddle could be collected by the purchaser if preferred.

Extremely Rare Riding Home Spare Stirrup made by Whippy and Co. This stirrup would be attached to the girth straps on the offside to allow the groom to ride the tired horse home astride. From the estate of Lady Margaret Fortesque, Castle Hill, Devon, kindly donated by her daughter, Lady Arran. Leather case: In good sound condition, well oiled, only fault some wear around hole for button catch. Size 6.5" x 5", excluding straps. Stirrup: Steel (not stainless) with nickel plating. Some surface rust and wear to plating, but in fully working condition and little wear. Rotates freely. Size 5" high, 4" wide internally. Webbing: Some soiling with rust marks from stirrup, but sound and strong.  Stitching very good. 12" long. Will post abroad, please contact for quote before bidding.
