Hi there. After a LOT of fun this summer, the children simply are NOT at ALL interested in riding the pony in a trap any more! Therefore with great sadness I am selling our beloved trap. It is beautifully oiled at the hinges, works PERFECTLY and comes with the entire harness which is around a year old, cost £150 and is made from English Leather. 4 FOOT HIGH TO BACK OF SEAT 3 FOOT HIGHT TO SEAT 1.5 FOOT TO WHEEL SHAFT 9 FOOT LONG SHAFTS AJUSTABLE BUT SET AT 2.5 FOOT WIDE NOW The trap shafts can be bent out to accommodate anything between a miniature Shetland to a fairly fat one. Ours is a BIG Shetland and he fits into it wonderfully. We have ridden in it with me (13 stone) and up to 4 children with no problems at all. The trap is light and very smooth and very quiet. It has a slip mat at the foot well and a basket hanging under the seat for picnics although this has a small hole where a dog had a sniff at a sandwich and tried to get through when we were not looking. Hole is small and does not affect function unless you are intending to carry something like loose cranberries! THIS ONE HAS GOT A SWINGLETREE! For those of you who do not drive yet, some come without a swingletree and are IMPOSSIBLE for the horses as the harness ends up rubbing horribly. Google it and you will see what a swingletree is! The harness is for a Shetland rather than for a miniature Shetland and would struggle to fit a really small miniature Shetland but is perfectly good for our little fellow. He has managed to chew the reign of the left hand side and also the same side strap at the unused end which I took to a saddler but who was perfectly happy that they were safe to use and advised not to bother fixing as it would probably only happen again at some stage! This trap has done us proud and you will have a lot of fun in it! Collection only or arrange your own courier from Sydling St Nicholas, Dorset. I got this to have a go with our small Shetland but have never got round to getting a harness and he is quite old and not driven before so decided its not a good idea!. PROJECT TRAP. Should make a nice quick-turnaround job for someone. Note this trap is near to DE73 DERBY, next to the A50. I had to relist this as I didn't include the measurements and everyone was asking so sorry if you were a previous watcher. This is a really light-weight aluminium trap. A 10 year old child can pull it round with ease. The height of the side bars in the main photo when horizontal are 34 inches off the floor. We were told this is for approx 14hh to 15hh horse but you make up your own mind on that one! Its 10foot long in total. the seat is about 28inches off the ground. The wheels are approx 24 inches diameter. We were going to refurbish this but haven't got round to doing it. As you can see, it needs new tyres, kick board and seats etc. The side bars look like one has rested on something higher than the other. You can come and have a look see before you bid if you like, just message me. Only bid if you want it as I'm not into fajjing around. The highest bid is the price, no tyre kickers after auction end. This is a lovely pony trap that has been driven to a 13 hh pony but has not been used for some time and is in need of repainting.  It is however in sound condition.  It has metal shafts and spoked wheels, one of the tyres is perished.  It is painted black with a red trim and has red padded plastic backs to the seating which is in sound condition.  The step is a bit rusty but could be polished up or painted. The shafts are 60" long and measure 17" wide at the narrowest point and 32" wide where they are attached to the trap.  The trap is 48" long and 46" wide. With a little bit of TLC and repainting this could be a lovely little trap for next summer. Cash on collection please and collection within 7 days of auction ending.
