Hi there. After a LOT of fun this summer, the children simply are NOT at ALL interested in riding the pony in a trap any more! Therefore with great sadness I am selling our beloved trap. It is beautifully oiled at the hinges, works PERFECTLY and comes with the entire harness which is around a year old, cost £150 and is made from English Leather. 4 FOOT HIGH TO BACK OF SEAT 3 FOOT HIGHT TO SEAT 1.5 FOOT TO WHEEL SHAFT 9 FOOT LONG SHAFTS AJUSTABLE BUT SET AT 2.5 FOOT WIDE NOW The trap shafts can be bent out to accommodate anything between a miniature Shetland to a fairly fat one. Ours is a BIG Shetland and he fits into it wonderfully. We have ridden in it with me (13 stone) and up to 4 children with no problems at all. The trap is light and very smooth and very quiet. It has a slip mat at the foot well and a basket hanging under the seat for picnics although this has a small hole where a dog had a sniff at a sandwich and tried to get through when we were not looking. Hole is small and does not affect function unless you are intending to carry something like loose cranberries! THIS ONE HAS GOT A SWINGLETREE! For those of you who do not drive yet, some come without a swingletree and are IMPOSSIBLE for the horses as the harness ends up rubbing horribly. Google it and you will see what a swingletree is! The harness is for a Shetland rather than for a miniature Shetland and would struggle to fit a really small miniature Shetland but is perfectly good for our little fellow. He has managed to chew the reign of the left hand side and also the same side strap at the unused end which I took to a saddler but who was perfectly happy that they were safe to use and advised not to bother fixing as it would probably only happen again at some stage! This trap has done us proud and you will have a lot of fun in it! Collection only or arrange your own courier from Sydling St Nicholas, Dorset. A vintage brown leather pony driving harness collar with brass metal. It appears to be in good condition but with some marks due to use/age. The small bit of leather with is sewn over the top is unstitched at one side. Internal measurements - height 18" - width at widest point 8". Can either be used or would make lovely display item. Details about   Antique Horse Drawn Harness Carriage Lamps

A matching pair of antique, Carriage Lamps with pagoda style vents on top and white metal bands around the stem inscribed "Patent No ". There is a small brass collar just under the lower band. The word 'PATENT' also appears on a raised lug on the unglazed side of the lantern (photo 5). Dimensions: Overall length 48cm, Lantern box width 13cm x 13cm, Weight: 1.75 Kg each The bodies of the lamps are in sound condition, the paint job is not original and is chipped/scratched in places. The vent stack on the top has taken some wear in its time (see photos) and the top of one appears to have been replaced - see picture 4. The clear glass windows (front and side aspect) are bevelled and contained within bright metal frames. The small, circular, red glass window (rear aspect) has a copper/brass coloured surround. All the glass is in good condition apart from some superficial scratches on the clear windows which can be seen in the photo details (all windows are shown). The rear window hinges downwards to give access to the interior (see final pics) which is lined with copper reflectors all in good condition. The lamp has been converted for electric lighting, the cable exits via a hole in the bottom of the stem. The oil burner holder (seen in last picture) appears to have been a previous conversion. Hilliam branded pony carriage, used for a 13.2hh fell pony but would go to 14.2hh easily. Usual hilliam details with whip holder, foot rest. This one also has winding balance and a grooms backstep. Lots of adjustment all over vehicle. There is some rust on the vehicle and the tyres have a few age cracks on them, so i am describing this as in fair condition. Please see photos or come to view. (located on Carmarthen/Pembrokeshire borders) The carriage also comes with a pair of hilliam steel carriage wheels which are larger than the phnematic ones fitted currently, 28" approx i believe but will need to measure them again, ideal for shows or drives.

You are looking at a pony carriage by Windover. From the success that Windover had from making Carriages they became involved in the building of the bodies for car makes such as Rolls Royce and Bentley. These carriages were originally built in Grantham until they moved to Huntingdon. This carriage was brought by my dad as he got over excited at an auction. It is in good condition but does need a little TLC to get it to top notch. There is a hole on the underside of the seat cushion as shown in the picture but otherwise no nasty damage.
