Can offer collection from Reigate, Wallington, Crawley and Merstham/Bletchingly About the Jacket from Point Two: ProAir: The Point Two ProAir is the lightweight, durable air vest of choice by riders all over the world, for everything from hacking and schooling to eventing and polo. It inflates in the blink of an eye to protect the rider in the event of a fall. How the ProAir works: The air jacket is inflated by a canister of C02, stored on the front of the jacket. When the rider separates from the saddle, the canister is activated by the release of a lanyard that is clipped from the jacket onto an attachment on the saddle. The air bags will inflate within one tenth of a second — roughly equivalent to the blink of an eye. The ProAir will hold the rider tight for seconds and then slowly deflate over two to three minutes. While the jacket is inflated, the rider will continue to have full movement of their waist, arms and legs, and partial movement of their head. Areas of protection The ProAir vest has been proved to work in three ways; to distribute pressure, absorb shock and support the spinal column in the event of a fall. When inflated, the airbag system offers the collar of the neck and trunk more support, thus reducing the risk of over bending the spinal column. EC Type-Examination Certificate Should it be worn with or without a body protector? The safest way to wear the ProAir is in conjunction with a conventional body protector. Some riders who use the ProAir at home or while hunting tell us they prefer to use it on its own — where they previously would have worn no safety equipment at all. But for UK competition, the ProAir must be used with a BETA-approved Level 3 body protector — such as the Racesafe , on which the P2-RS is built. The Point Two ProAir is fully reusable, and requires servicing annually or after every six falls.
