This is a used genuine Myler combination Bit 5 1/2" I used this on my strong mare for a few weeks she respected it very quickly, the noseband acts first applying pressure if the horse continues to ignore this the curb comes into action then lastly the mouthpiece so when all 3 are applied they quickly learn! The mouth piece is sweet iron & has oxidised (looks rusty) this encourages your horse to accept the bit & salivate, I found this combination very simple to use although first impressions it looks complicated it really isn't! grab a bargain! *Have cleaned it since pics were taken!

Function: Utilizing various pressure points, Combination Bits offer simultaneous interaction of the mouthpiece, curb strap and noseband. When rein pressure is applied or released, the combination bit automatically disperses or releases direct action and leverage pressure to the horses mouth, chin, nose and poll. Pressure is spread between the four areas instead of mostly concentrated on the mouth as with traditional bits, allowing the rider to send a softer and kinder message. Light pressure is applied to the mouth as the mouthpiece slides on the ring. After contacting the "ring stop,” the mouthpiece will engage completely and apply more downward pressure. Also, the backward and downward pressure of the noseband and the forward pressure of the curb strap are extremely effective at asking a horse to relax at the poll.
