Hi there. After a LOT of fun this summer, the children simply are NOT at ALL interested in riding the pony in a trap any more! Therefore with great sadness I am selling our beloved trap. It is beautifully oiled at the hinges, works PERFECTLY and comes with the entire harness which is around a year old, cost £150 and is made from English Leather. 4 FOOT HIGH TO BACK OF SEAT 3 FOOT HIGHT TO SEAT 1.5 FOOT TO WHEEL SHAFT 9 FOOT LONG SHAFTS AJUSTABLE BUT SET AT 2.5 FOOT WIDE NOW The trap shafts can be bent out to accommodate anything between a miniature Shetland to a fairly fat one. Ours is a BIG Shetland and he fits into it wonderfully. We have ridden in it with me (13 stone) and up to 4 children with no problems at all. The trap is light and very smooth and very quiet. It has a slip mat at the foot well and a basket hanging under the seat for picnics although this has a small hole where a dog had a sniff at a sandwich and tried to get through when we were not looking. Hole is small and does not affect function unless you are intending to carry something like loose cranberries! THIS ONE HAS GOT A SWINGLETREE! For those of you who do not drive yet, some come without a swingletree and are IMPOSSIBLE for the horses as the harness ends up rubbing horribly. Google it and you will see what a swingletree is! The harness is for a Shetland rather than for a miniature Shetland and would struggle to fit a really small miniature Shetland but is perfectly good for our little fellow. He has managed to chew the reign of the left hand side and also the same side strap at the unused end which I took to a saddler but who was perfectly happy that they were safe to use and advised not to bother fixing as it would probably only happen again at some stage! This trap has done us proud and you will have a lot of fun in it! Collection only or arrange your own courier from Sydling St Nicholas, Dorset.
