The offers some tongue relief, and is comfortable and explicit in its action for kind but effective communication. This is another unusual bit from my collection I don't know if it has a name but seems to be a sort of curb bit It is made of metal and could be  plated nickel but is very shiney and heavy it has long shanks re 9" The mouthpiece is almost 5" and has a central high port of nearly 2" Is this bit English or from abroad ?
