  This is a wonderful find.   Not only do you get the original leather covered jewelry box with the satin insides from B.L.CODER, jeweler & optician, Oxford PA.   Some age spots on the fabric, but excellent nonetheless. The brassish/goldish colored jewelry inside is men's either cuff links or collar things.   Monogrammed "H" on each piece.   Marked on the pieces are S&S.   Nice ornate floral pattern marked into the metal. The color on top of each piece is in excellent condition.   On the back shows some light antique wear. The oval top measures approx 3/4". Some gold pattern on edges of box.   Some wear to leather as shown.   Nice and clean leather.  Maybe wood box with leather.    Measures approx 1.5 x 2 7/8".   The silver colored metal push pin works well to clasp and unclasp box.         Pennsylvania residents to pay 6% sales tax.  Our items are mostly 100 years old or so.   Expect that there will be flaws consistent with antique items and it is not possible to note every flaw.      LOC:  smalls33-km LOC2:

  ?antique victorian EARLY WOOD JEWELRY BOX w/VELVET, SILK,TRAY butterfly, rose This is a gorgeous old box, footed, and with a tray divided into 6 squares.   One is lined with a velvet and the others are silk or satin type fabric. The lid is lined with silk and the botterfly and rose are dimensionally applied.   The other parts may be painted, but not sure. The thin layer on the outside of the wood has crazing, is cracking, and peeling away and fragile.   It seems like most is there and can be reglued back down. The skeletin key is missing and not included. This gorgeous antique Jewelry box,   must be atleast 30+ years old  solid mahogany. with serious craftsmanship in it.  as a  woodworker, i know a  good job.  to replicate this work would take years of training.    the dovetails in the joining of the wood are gorgious.   - not to mention the overall box is lovely and would look great in any setting.   obviously as a old item it has  some wear, but the key/lock  works,  interior is a  typical example of old jewelry box's.    -    overall the item is in good condition, has had a  polish up and a  clean up,  could be reworked but i think that would destroy its charm.      "postage wise,  will be well packaged with bubble wrap, and secure.  royal mail 48-  £8 postage is fair considering the items size, not large but not small.

This nice little jewellery box has been hand sanded before been re painted. I will be honest I used this as a little practice piece as I wanted to see what the colour looked like for larger projects I have, don't worry still a great finish. Its very useable and as you can see its still been done properly no wood can be seen when the door is open like nearly all others on here. The back and draw have been lined in fabric and the box has been clear lacquered too to protect it and to make it useable. Even the back has been covered so again no wood can be seen so can be placed on display.  Unique and a one of a kind better than shop bought ones where everyone has the same.
