A pretty, vintage, inlaid, small, wooden box suitable for jewellery, nice warm colour The polished outer surface is in good condition. The inlay on top is completely undamaged, but there are some surface scratches and an authentic ink stain. The veneer on the sides is bubbled in places and there are chips to the wood at the front right and rear left corners. See photo's. The inside is lined with red vellum which is worn. The original lock and outer escutcheon are present, the lock has been unseated by forcing and the hasp is missing from the lid The original bottom has been replaced with veneered plywood and would benefit from more sympathic repair. 631g

YOU ARE BROWSING Solid pine wood jewellery box This beautiful solid pine wood jewellery box is based on a wardrobe design and features an attractive flower pattern on the glass panelled door. Inside this part of the box, there is an internal mirror at the rear, a rotating multiple hook system for hanging chains, etc. at the top and a padded ribbed floor into which to hold rings and smaller pieces of jewellery. The door is held in place by brass effect hinges and has a magnetic fastener. Beside the door there are four solid wood lined drawers for holding other items. The bottom of one of the drawers has a crease mark from manufacture and cannot be seen inside due to the cream coloured lining. The piece is ” high, 8.5” at its widest and 4.75” at its deepest. Details about   Old Antique Jewellery Box

Here we have an old jewellery box. This box has been well used and well loved and the signs of wear are considerable on the outer top (see picture 3). The box is made from a very fine leather which has had a pull/scuff in one place across the top. (See picture 3). This jewellery bow was originally a very vintage and vivid Green, which can be seen on the bottom of the box (see picture 4) but the daylight has faded the top and sides. Inside, there is a beautiful Green velvet tray which can be taken to access a shallow tray underneath. The box is finished in a green satin, which is slightly coming away in places. It is functional and beautiful but the outer top shows its age and use. This is OLD!!! It deserves to be somewhere where it will be enjoyed and used.
