Quarter Markers By Shires A simple idea which adds the finishing touch to your horse on those all important show days or can just be used for a bit of elegant fun. Quarter Marks are sometimes used on formally turned out Hunters, Sport Horses or Driving Horses. They call attention to a well turned croup and wide, well muscled hindquarters, as well as pointing up the gloss of the coat.   The pattern should start above the point of the hip and should not extend too far back and down the side.   To use - The plastic template should be used once the coat has been wet down and brushed towards the tail. Place the template firmly over the wet croup, and using a body brush, brush straight downward across the direction of the hair growth. Carefully remove the template and the design will be left on the hair.   Available in Small Diamond, Large Square, Triangle or Chevron design.
