This is an original wooden tip cart. It is in good condition and very solid except for a slight bit of rot on the outer wheels (see photographs). It was used by my Grandad until his retirement in the late 50s, when he left it to me with his horses. I used it up until a few years ago, dressing it up for weddings and taking my children and grandchildren for trips around the village, since then it has been stored in the barn. The seats are removeable, and the steps detachable.

Details about   Original Horse Drawn Sleigh

Original Horse Drawn Sleigh Thought to originate from Scandinavia or Germany circa .  Stored under cover and in good condition.  Suitable for immediate work use.  Currently mounted on a black wheeled frame which is also available if required.  There is also a breaking system (see photo) that can be wound into the snow for when the sleigh is in use without the wheel frame. This sleigh has previously been used for transporting Santa to childrens parties, school events and nurseries.   It was able to be pulled by a 14hh and a 15.2hh cob. The sleigh is in black/red with an indulgent gold velvet fabric covering the seating.  The interior floor is carpeted red.  It looks superb adorned with Xmas decoration or flowers/foliage if preferred.  The superb eagle heads situated on the front of the sleigh are also in gold. There is a seat for the coachman,  and separate seating behind for Santa and a little helper.  There is also a little Dickie seat for the groom situated to the rear of the sleigh.  Please see photos. Vintage Antique Horse Drawn Cart

FOR SALE is a beautifully crafted, painted market cart in green and yellow. It has good artillery wheels in working order. I bought it recently to do it up, but with winter weather and no dry place to store it I am unable to work on it myself to give it some tlc. It will be a nice restoration project for someone. The main work that is needed is some varnish and wood preservation, and a new floor and front beam. Otherwise it is sound and the shafts are in good order and would suit any cob sized pony or horse. The wrought ironwork is nice on the cart and chassis, and the measurements are: Length - 5ft 6" long (cart not shafts) Width - 3ft 8" wide Shafts - 90" long Height - roughly 42" It has a seat which can go up or down the length of the cart to adjust to your leg length. Also, it has a bracket on the back which fits the yellow tail gate (detachable) in sculpted scalloped yellow wood to match the sides. This is a lovely little cart which I would want to go to a good home as it has been used and loved since the s. A quick sale is needed. This Carriage is in Original untouched condition - being purchased by us over 20 years ago and dry stored - we just never got around to having it restored and now we have no horse to fit it and need the space so;its time to move it on. The woodwork and leather work are all excellent - the leather would require some saddle soap or leather softner to make it supple again.;There are no rips to the hood and the leather dash just requires a little stitching to the corner as you can see from the photographs.;It also has its original apron which is also good. The interior as you can see has been home to mice - but all the shape and buttoning is still there so it would be fairly easy to re-upholster.;The carriage retains its original carpet. This carriage has a lovely elegant shape and dimentions and very roomy for comfort;The dainty doors on the sides enables the passengers to be able to get in and out with ease and they retain there original brass handles. It has a leather drop below seat which is also good. There is also a flap opening for accoutrements which at present is just a little stiff but works.The vehicle retains its original iron tyres and the wheels are all good.  The carriage also retains its original leather whip holder. The back wheels are 36" dia and the front wheels are 31" dia. with all brass hub caps.;Floor to rein rail measures 56" approx and the length of the carriage body is approx 9.0ft.;Width across back hubs is 59" and across the front hubs is 53";With the hood in the upright position the carriage is approx 80" high. The width of the inside of the rear seat is 37". The carriage haws eliptical springs, and the rear pair connected at front by central cross spring giving a comfortable ride. This is a very elegant vehicle and rare to find one in such original condition especially with the leather hood in such good condition and also having its original apron. There are no shafts to the vehicle - but should not be a problem to purchase a pair of the shape desired. If you require any more details or measurements let me know.;Restored would be an exceptional vehicle for wedding work - or indeed left as it is for the collector of vehicles. Payment in cash on collection preferred.
