5 tonne Volkswagen LT50 non-HGV Forward facing. I have had this box for 3.5years and it has never let me down. My daughter and I have taken a 16h mare all around the country in this box. It has started in -15 degrees. It will carry 1 horse, 1 horse plus a pony, 2 smaller horses or 2ponies. I doubt it will carry 2 horses, but I have never tried. Living area that sleeps 3. 1 above the Luton and a double bed made from the seats. No cooker or fridge. Lots of storage space for rugs, saddles, bridles, etc.. Plated and serviced April. Volkswagen 5 Ton LT50 Horsebox. /J 2.4 Turbo diesel with only miles from new. This is a fantastic horse box in unbelievable condition. It had been dry stored in a barn for many years which explains the low mileage and the bodywork being in such great condition. The cab area is supurb for its age the doors and door steps are rust free and the cab is clean. A CD player has been fitted and there are three seats including the drivers. The engine is a superb 2.4 turbo diesel unit with 5 cylinders so it sounds fantastic and it is very strong with 5 gears. The cab is cut through to the living area and as can be seen from the photographs the living area itself is in lovely clean condition. There is sleeping for 2 above the cab and L shaped seating area with storage under. There are 2 sliding opening windows in the living area and lighting. Speakers from the CD radio are fitted in the living area along with other power points and a portable fridge, though we have never used this.  There is a sink, 2 ring hob and grill, drawers and cupboards. Access to the living area is from a lockable door and folding steps. There is a lockable door between the horse area and the living area. Currently stalled for 2 facing forward, will carry 14.2 ponies, although if your horse is happy to back off, bigger horses could be carried as the overall height is 7ft 2. There is an additional partition if you wanted to carry three small ponies herringbone. There is wardrobe and additional small storage cupboards in the horse area. There are also 2 outside lockable storage compartments ideal for grooming kits, boots etc. The gas bottle for the hob is accessed externally. This lorry has been used most weekends, starts first time every time and is very reliable. The plate / MOT lasts till May next year. We have recently spent £800 on maintaining this lorry to its high standard with a new cam belt and water pump, full service including air and fuel filter. The front and rear brakes have been completely overhauled and a new exhaust fitted. This is a fantastic lorry with a retro look that gets noticed wherever it goes.  On sale £1 start with no reserve. Hi I'm selling my horse box due to ill health. It is plated till April with no advisories This a very basic lorry with a small living, with cooker and sink, with pump but unfortunately I have not been able to use it. It will take 3 or 4 ponies or 2 x 16 hh. I was going to change to telescopic portions and take out the storage box then you could probably get 2/3 bigger horses in. This a very old box but it is very reliable and very solid, my lorry man who took it for its plating was very impressed with how solid and clean it is. In the time Iv had it we have put........ New slave cylinder and brakes cleaned up this month. New Fuel pump New Starter motor I put 3 windows in the horse area. And fixed a leek. It has a double wood floor with rubber mates on top. It has very good interior lights in living and horse area, with a good ramp light. I can do the ramp on my own. No power steering but before my illness I drove it fine. 5 gears. Man VW 7.5 Tonne Horse box for sale. MOT, until February - passed MOT this year only needing 1 new tyre. Currently TAX'd but dont think this can carry onto new owner with new Tax laws! Owned by myself and a close friend for the last 13 years. In the last 5 years of my ownership it has had 2 new batteries with isolator fitted, A new brake system to allow it to meet current MOT standards, the air compressor serviced and rebuilt and been regularly serviced. Extensive work has been carried out on the box to remove any rusty framework. This included removal the unusable side ramp and having a tack area door fitted and new reinforced ramp hinge area to cope with heavier horses. A new double skin floor has been fitted in the last Months with rubber matting fitted in top, but regularly lifted to ensure floor remains dry. Lights fitted in box to ensure easy loading at night. This lorry will easily carry 3 large horses. My horse is 17hh with sufficient head room. It has been weighed with 3 horses on board and does not exceed maximum gross weight. Very reliable lorry, used most weeks. Have competed and driven to events all over the country in this lorry without thinking twice. Starts first time every time but can be a little smokey when cold. CD player with decent speakers installed for those long journeys. It currently doesn't have living installed but is a good size area to have items fitted, currently has saddle racks mounted on the wall. Only selling due to inheritance has allowed me to get something newer and wishing to have living due to doing further away events. This lorry has no power steering but as a female driver I have never found this a problem. There are also some small rust patches starting to come through the paintwork on the cab but nothing structural or serious, Previous repairs have been made to both cab rear corners.
