This is a lovely vintage herringbone tweed riding jacket.  It has seen a few days in the saddle so has a few snags - shown in pictures - but generally, apart from the snags, the tweed is in excellent condition.  There are no repairs on the jacket. There is no fibre content label on the jacket but the tweed appears to be wool.  The lining is synthetic.  The jacket has 5 very nice buttons. A Classic Vintage Harry Hall Ladies Black Hunt or Show Jacket.  Size 38 Measurements: Chest: 38" Waist 34" Back length: 38" Please do not hesitate to request any further measurements or images. Unsure of fibre content but appears to be a quality fine wool in a twill weave. Condition: The outside of this jacket is in very good condition for a coat of this age.  There are a couple of snags in the cloth, but nothing serious.  The lining looks more tired but is still in good condition and is made of a good quality fabric with plenty of wear in it.

Extremely Rare Riding Home Spare Stirrup made by Whippy and Co. This stirrup would be attached to the girth straps on the offside to allow the groom to ride the tired horse home astride. From the estate of Lady Margaret Fortesque, Castle Hill, Devon, kindly donated by her daughter, Lady Arran. Leather case: In good sound condition, well oiled, only fault some wear around hole for button catch. Size 6.5" x 5", excluding straps. Stirrup: Steel (not stainless) with nickel plating. Some surface rust and wear to plating, but in fully working condition and little wear. Rotates freely. Size 5" high, 4" wide internally. Webbing: Some soiling with rust marks from stirrup, but sound and strong.  Stitching very good. 12" long. Will post abroad, please contact for quote before bidding.
