Anyway, here is an electric fence energiser that you can connect up to a battery and zap things with. (Not as entertainment; just for stock control) It is green. It is a Rutland ESB 57 Here are some numbers: 0.25 Joules 12 V 75ah Max power use 23ma Open volts Estimated battery life 144 days Distance rating Km dependent on vegetation. Suitable for: Poultry, cattle, horses, pigs and children (although it is probably not socially acceptable, morally decent or remotely legal to use this on children. In fact; don't use this on children; it would be wrong; possibly funny; but wrong) There are no poles or fence wire included (because they would weigh a ton to post, and also because most of them got slightly eaten by a mower). I have scratched my postcode into the back (to deter would be thieves and vagabonds), but apart from that, it is pretty clean. Any questions; please ask. It is the perfect addition to the poultry kits we supply to get the current flowing through your nets or fencing. Simply plug the energiser into the mains or hook it up to a leisure battery (see below) and your electric fencing becomes a fully functioning protector of your poultry. How does it work? Your ELECTRIC FENCING OR NET can be electrified with this Gemini 120 energiser. You can run it from the mains or from a battery as follows:  Mains: The energiser comes with a lead (not included) that connects the energiser to the mains via a normal three square pin plug. This is the most reliable source of power to your electric fence, but the mains supply needs to be kept in a dry environment. Alternatively, connect the energiser to a 12V rechargeable leisure battery(not included). These are like car batteries, but whereas a car battery is designed to give a short-lived burst of high energy to start a car, a leisure battery gives a longer-lasting charge of low energy to keep your electric fencing live. They can be bought from motoring shops (e.g. Halfords) or you can buy them from camping or agricultural stores. If you plan to locate your energiser away from your electric fence then you will need an  HT Lead Out Cable  (insulated cable for outdoor use), which connects your energiser to your netting and carries the charge.  N.b. You will need to buy the HT Lead Out Cable and battery separately. Safety The energiser  must be housed indoors when connected to the mains  like all similar charge devices.
