The cavesson  is the ultimate tool to help you with the  straightness training. The cavesson has been inventend to teach the horse to bend, halt, place the head and hindquarters correctly and to make its body and limbs supple and flexible,  without harming the mouth. The cavesson has been specially developed for lungeing, working in-hand and riding. Using the cavesson makes the horse much more supple in its body  without disturbing the mouth. With the cavesson,  mistakes  that are made by previous riders using a bit, can be  corrected. The cavesson is very  easy to use  in the training. The leather is supple, feels comfortable in the hand of the rider and fits closely to the head of the horse: The cavesson consists of a flexible, metallic  noseband  wrapped in leather. It adjusts itself to the nose of the horse. The noseband is reinforced but remains supple in order to allow optimal contact between the horse and the rider. Three rings  are fastened to the noseband. These rings are moveable, which is convenient when changing the lead. A  throatlatch  holds the cheekpieces in place and avoids them to get in the eyes of the horse. The measures are as follows: noseband  with articulated chain: 25 cm chin strap  used to fasten the noseband (the piece with the buckle is 8 cm, the piece that can be adjusted is 31 cm): adjustable from 18cm to 32 cm. throatlatch  (the piece with the buckle is 20 cm, the piece that can be adjusted is 51 cm): adjustable from 38 cm to 50 cm. cheeckpieces  (the piece with the buckle is 22 cm, the piece going over the neck is 83 cm):  adjustable from 70 cm to 100 cm. Handmade English leather Lungeing cavesson. I had this made years ago for breaking and though it has been well used and then stored it is still in good condition. Some rust spots on buckles. It is cob / full size but would be too small for a shire. All stitching is sound and it comes with a spare head piece. Dark havana.
