Bucas Smartex Rain Rug 5ft- stay dry lining. In used but good condition. A few years old, but has never got muddy- as my youngster I purchased it for doesn't like to roll in the field!! Professionally cleaned and re-proofed last week, just has a few grey hairs in the velcro/lining that remain, and a tiny tiny nick in the fabric on the right hand side of the rug but hasn't gone right through so doesn't cause any problem (pictured)- have just explained this in order to be as honest as possible. Bucas rugs are amazing rugs with regards to fit and quality and last forever!- only sadly selling as now totally outgrown (paid over £100 new) Payment by Paypal please- item may be collected in person from BA3 postcode area. Bucas Smartex All-in-One Turnout Rug 6' 3" in blue with white and green trim. This is an amazingly waterproof and warm rug. It has a "stay dry" fleecy lining and, according to Bucas, can be put on a wet horse and the horse then turned out. I have put it on a damp horse (as opposed to a really wet one) and it did dry the horse and keep her warm and comfortable. I also have never found my cob sweaty underneath it when the weather has turned unexpectedly warm so I think it does wick and breathe well. The rug has seen little use as, even when clipped, my cob mare did not need this weight of rug often. If laundered it would come up like new. There is not much in the way of mud marks on it as it has only been used in very cold weather ie well below freezing and the outer fabric is still shiny like new under the muddy bits. Any loose mud has been brushed off. The inside is quite dusty and there are greasy white marks on the nylon part of the chest lining, please see photos - the cob that wore it was a bit of a greasy girl. There is also a small hole in the nylon lining near the front chest fastener (see photo 5). The inside of the rug has been brushed but some hair and dust remain, please see photos for extent. I think the rug would need to be laundered before use. This is the standard neck version of the rug and the chest is sort of "darted" which is great for preventing chest rubs, All velcro is properly attached and in great condition (but has some hair and hay in it) and the cross surcingles are still firmly attached. The rings for attaching the leg straps are also ok and the elastic leg straps are included. At one end of the leg strap the fasteners are like new but there is some corrosion at the other end where they have dangled on the floor of the tack room. The sliding buckles for adjusting the leg straps have rusted a bit,   All metal fasteners and are stainless steel and in perfect condition with no rust. The rug has velcro attachments for a separate neck which have not been used. The rug is for sale as I just don't need this weight of rug any more as said cob is not clipped at all in winter any more as she is now retired from ridden work and she just enjoys being hairy. It just seems pointless to keep it when it could be ideal for someone else. It cost me a stupid amount of money when i bought it so just trying to get some back to fund lighter rugs that are more suitable for her now. Any questions please ask as i do not accept returns. I am selling my 6'9" Bucas Smartex Extra 300 gram turnout rug.  This rug is lightweight, yet incredibly warm insulation in between two very advanced technical layers.  The layer next to the horse is a 300g Bucas ‘‘Stay-Dry” lining that wicks away moisture from the horse so the fabric is never wet on the horses skin.  The outer layer is a ballistic nylon for ultimate strength with a breathable and waterproof inner coating ensuring the horse is dry at all times. The Smartex rug has shoulder darts for extra room and movement and the shoulder areas are lined with soft nylon to prevent rubs.  The Smartex Extra also features the unique ‘Click n Go’ closure system. The rug also benefits from a double layered chest panel with an additional Velcro band for added security. Padding in the panel also gives comfort and protection against rubs. Cross surcingles and detachable elastic leg straps, a tail flap for added protection and reflective piping around the edge of the rug are all essential details. Velcro panels on either side of the neck give the option to add the Combi Neck Cover. This is a very sad sale of a great rug that was only used for 1 week on my youngster last winter,  you can imagine my disappointment when I got it out to try the other day only to find he's outgrown it! Bucas Smartex All in One Turnout Rug Lovely warm heavy rug, with wick dry lining so can be put on damp horse and moisture still wicked away without causing dampness - more info on bucas website. 4ft9 green with charcoal grey binding, completely in-tact rug, fully useable. No rips or tears on material. All buckles in good working order albeit a little rusty. Last photo shows where binding has come apart near back, easily sewn or glued back in. Was used for our pony last winter but is too big so selling to fund a smaller version. Needs a wash. Will be well brushed down before posting. Having a clear out so check out my other items, horsey stuff being sorted so more appearing over next few days. Can combine postage if needed.
