Details about   17" MW Classic Saddlery. Half Panel. Point

Brown English made GP  by Classic Saddlery. British standard on the stirrup bar. Very comfy. Block built into flap. Super soft and strong buffalo leather on the flaps and skirts and soft hide leather on the seat and knees. Measures 17" from stud to centre of cantle.  Measures 8 1/2" across the dee's. This is a nice medium wide fit. Stamped 'M' on the stirrup bar but is generous and fits wider due to the half panels. Flap measures 14" from stirrup bar to bottom.  Tree is sound. The stitching is strong and girth straps are sound and solid. Point and balance strap to hold the saddle in place and prevent rolling or sliding. Normal signs of light use. Nicely flocked panels. Half panels allow much more freedom for the shoulder,ideal for chunkier types. No marks or real signs of wear. Beautiful leather quality, very soft and supple throughout.  Pics really do not do this saddle justice. Useful saddle from a good maker. Any questions please ask! My email address is or call or . For Sale here is a Roe Richardson Reactor Panel general purpose saddle with a 17.5 inch seat, M edium / wide fitting &  velcro knee blocks. The two panels are attached to the saddle tree via four shock absorbing Sorbothane and velcro impregnated blocks.These blocks create a vital gap that allows for angle changes to the panels,so one saddle can accommodate a wide range of horses. the front to back balance is achieved by the use of the Sorbothane blocks and shimms inserted in appropriate places. Because there is no flocking the saddle will never need re-stuffing. To provide shoulder freedom, the ReactorPanel Saddle is designed so that the front edge of the panel deliberately rests over the scapula. This part of the panel is non weight bearing at its edges and the tree points are specially shortened to end above the bony mass of the scapula. When the shoulders rotate backwards they slide easily under the panels without encountering rigid resistance. When riding without numnahs/saddle pads you can easily see the panels flex as the shoulders move underneath.The ReactorPanel saddles flexible panels and shock absorbing discs follow the changing contours of the back in motion. The panels undulate with the back under the center of the saddle. Independently attached, the panels compress and flex on either side of the horse’s spine in response to the back motion, moving with the movement of the horse. This movement can be felt by the rider through the saddle, giving a close contact feel for the rider, helping to make aids to the horse clearer and giving the rider more awareness of the horse beneath. The saddle has various additional rings attached for long distance riding for carrying equipment. A top quality saddle that is in useable order as you can see in the photographs.  This saddle cost £ when 2nd hand 3 years ago and was used to break in Young Thoroughbred racehorses. You are looking at a beautiful little 'Ideal' show saddle. It is a half panel style perfect for little ponies and riders. It is an older style but in lovely used condition and has been well looked after over the years.  There is some wear to one of the flaps where the saddle has been used (not by me!) without buckle guards I think. This is not visible when the saddle is in use. The cantle shows no more than very slight scuffing with no cracks. There are no major scratches.  It is stamped 'flexible points' on one of the underneath flaps.   I used this saddle on a narrow section b so would say it was a narrow fit and measures approx 7in D to D and 4 in between stuffing.  This would a great little saddle for someone starting out on a budget.

Beautiful 17" Black Country Show Saddle. Medium Wide. This lovely saddle is very comfortable to ride in, I have been using on a 15 hander and its been great. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my new one. It has general wear and tear which I have tried to show in the photos but otherwise is in excellent condition and is a great saddle for the ring.  It is brown, and the seat is a slightly darker brown that is verging on black as shown in the photos. It is a great contrast.  This saddle measures 9inches D to D ring.
