  14.5" Ideal show Saddle (not Fylde)

This is a fantastic 14.5 inch Wide fit saddle (9inches between D rings) part suede saddle in excellent condition with no damage or excessive wear. Perfect for showing or hacking. In my view, Ideal and Fylde make the best showing saddles for native ponies that there are. Some people favour Ideal, some favour Fylde. I have used and owned both and would say it depends on the pony. In any event I hung onto this saddle in the hope that one day I would find another little pony to use it on but my little jockey will never be able to fit her backside into the saddle now being 13yrs old! This saddle has been to the top, used at county level and needs to find its next home.   15.5" Native pony show Saddle (not Fylde)

This is a virtually unused 15.5 inch Medium/Wide saddle (8.5inches between D rings) superb English leather saddle made in Somerset by Rich and Sons, ideal for hacking or showing. This was a great fit on a 14.2 part bred Welsh Sec D and is very comfortable to sit on. It is fairly deep and therefore gives a very secure position. Being a GP saddle it can be used for most disciplines. The maker was asked by the prospective and rather insistent owner to fit a crupper but of course this was not needed on a 14.2hh pony so needless to say it was taken off hence the marks on the rear of the cantle but of course it doesnt affect the saddle performance. You are looking at a beautiful little 'Ideal' show saddle. It is a half panel style perfect for little ponies and riders. It is an older style but in lovely used condition and has been well looked after over the years.  There is some wear to one of the flaps where the saddle has been used (not by me!) without buckle guards I think. This is not visible when the saddle is in use. The cantle shows no more than very slight scuffing with no cracks. There are no major scratches.  It is stamped 'flexible points' on one of the underneath flaps.   I used this saddle on a narrow section b so would say it was a narrow fit and measures approx 7in D to D and 4 in between stuffing.  This would a great little saddle for someone starting out on a budget.

This is an ideal show / working hunter saddle purchased from fylde saddlery. It has the black ideal plates and silver studs. It has three girth straps straight cut to show off the shoulder but a knee roll underneath so suitable for workers. No longer fits my pony who has outgrown it. It is medium but can be adjusted to wide or x wide if required.. Sad sale of a well cared for saddle. The width can be altered if required. Fylde Show Saddle 16” Havana   This is an auction for a lovely suede & leather Fylde show saddle. It measurers 16” across the seat.   Fylde saddles are renown for ‘being the best’ in the showing world and as such are very well made in England.   All Fylde saddles are template adjustable if you return the saddle to Fylde. If I remember correctly, when I enquired it was £35 to have a saddle adjusted, obviously you would have the cost of sending the saddle on top of that.   This is a used saddle and as such shows sign of wear in the usual places, like the suede on the seat and where the stirrup leathers hang down the flaps but overall it’s still in good condition. I used the saddle for showing lead rein but my Daughter is no longer interested in riding so I’m selling off the bits I have acquired which are also listed in my other items.   Please feel free to ask any questions & I will reply as soon as I can.     Thanks for looking!
