This from the original product description: · Lightweight aluminium series road frame · Shimano 16 speed with combined STI gear/brake levers · Elan alloy rims with Kenda tyres · Alloy cantilever brakes · Narrow junior road drop handlebars The Dawes Espoir boys racing bike has been carefully designed to be a perfect junior road bike. With its proportioned cranks and handlebars, a mudguard compatible frame and a specification specifically designed to enable the rider to convert it to a cyclo-cross bike, the Espoir really is an ideal starter bike for the little racer. Since we had the bike I've fitted: - a rear mudguard - essential! - cross-top brake levers - great for giving kids a bit of extra confidence while they get used to road bars. - new bar tape - I've just done this since the factory supplied white bar tape was probably not the best choice of colour! As to be expected with a used cyclocross bike there's a number of stone chips in the paintwork - I've touched most of these up already.
