For sale is a Dave Smith Prophet 8 analogue synthesiser. It’s the PE version and I’ve owned it from new. Included are both the manual and power supply. It’s in perfect working order and cosmetically ‘as new’. Sounds fantastic especially if allied with a decent outboard effects unit. I’m preparing for a move and need to get rid of some of my gear, so unfortunately this will have to go. Ideally I’d like whoever buys this to collect it in person. But modern features like a greatly expanded modulation matrix and additional modulation sources—such as three envelopes and four LFOs per voice—take it way beyond vintage gear and make it a worthy and unique addition to the Prophet family tree. Features include a gated 16 x 4 step sequencer, arpeggiator, split or stacked key modes with separate stereo outputs per layer, and rack ears for optional rack-mounting. It comes in the original box with the Dave Smith adapter and manual and a Dave Smith official carry case and is updated to latest Operating System. This machine has seen light use in a non smoking/no pets studio and has been stored in the carry case when not in use. Very sad to see her go, amazing all round piece of gear, i have used it as a polyphonic synth just as much as a drum machine, the variation of sounds you can produce is truly incredible and the on-the-fly sequencing and editing makes for a great tool for a live set up.
