WW2 U.S.N 2NBB D-DAY M1 HELMET in Milford Haven

This is a post WW2 M1 Helmet converted to US Navy 2nd NBB Helmet. This helmet has been left in the original army color which is an accurate shade of Olive Drab. A wartime spec sewn on chinstrap has been added and the shell has been painted with a Navy Grey band, with USN stencil applied above. The grey band has been hand painted as originally applied, USN personnel used the width of a playing card to mark out an even band around the helmet. The markings are unique to the 2nd NBB who landed on Utah Beach during the allied invasion on D-Day as seen in the last photo.
