This is a selection of over 45 coloured play related pictures and symbol cards which are a tremendous aid for those who are non verbal and as a great comprehensive way to facilitate communication and needs while away from home. They are also very useful for motivators and timetables. These cards are also a huge support when first starting to teach visual communication and also when re-teaching or reinforcing after memory loss. The picture cards come in three sizes and have looped Velcro dots on the back. They are suitable for all communication systems and books/folders. For example ABA, Pecs, story lines, story boards, sentence strip, schedules, communication books, and many other communication methods. The key ring option makes transportation between places very easy and is a good size to put into a bag, pocket or folder. The key ring does not have the Velcro loops on the back. The Flash cards are approx. 7 cm X 10 cm and we offer them as a set or on a key ring. This size of key ring is excellent for having in a more permanent place or hanging up with other sets. There are three different packs as well as the individual items:- The Combined Pack contains: - a set of 4.5 cards and another on a key ring, and a set of flash cards with another on a key ring. The 4.5 card pack contains: - a set of 4.5 cm cards and another on a key ring. The flash cards pack contains: - a set of flash cards and another on a key ring. As children/young people/adults with difficulties are often visual learners these images help with transference and recall. All our items come packed in a re-usable folder for safe storage when not being used. We can supply in different languages, please message us for details. If using a visual communication system for the first time there are things you may need to consider such as the age and dexterity of your child/young person/adult. So we offer the square cards in three sizes with Velcro loop dots on the back. The 6cm pictures are especially good for young children and those with visual difficulties. The very popular 4.5cm pictures are great for children/young people/adults who are learning how to use a visual communication and while they develop their fine motor skills. They are easier to use than the 2.5cm pictures which are for the more practised children/young people/adults. You may also wish to think about how portable your system might need to be and how many cards your child/young person/adult will possibly have to carry around, as this may determine the size of the pictures you want. Many pe ople use a larger size at home or school/activity/care centre and use a smaller more portable set when travelling between places. Eventually the smaller size may be used more permanently. Consider eventually buying two sets so you can have one at home or school and one at another place which is attended regularly and where they will want to communicate. Consistency is very important.
