Comitti of London Mahogany 8 Day Westminster Chime Wall Regulator Clock. Solid mahogany 8 day Comitti Westminster chime wall regulator clock. The case is all English Made from solid Mahogany and beautifully hand polished. The carved top piece is finished with a central brass finial. The high quality Westminster chime movement plays the Westminster chime very quarter (building up the amount it plays each quarter) and then strikes the corresponding number on the hour. It uses a combination of 5 rods being struck by hammers to make the sound. Supplied with the original key. All in working order, collection only. Dimensions: 57cm(H) x 20cm(W) x 10cm(D) Company History. In Onorato Comitti, an Italian precision instrument maker, opened his workshop in Clerkenwell, London. This is a London Brighton and South Coast Railway teak cased 18 inch dial weight driven wall clock. It is a large and attractive solid Teak cased wall mounted weight driven regulator that was supplied to the LBSCR in at a cost of £d by Richard Webster of Cornhill St London it spent all of it's railway working life at Streatham Common Railway Station. The Dial was repainted by the Southern and later British Railways Southern Region clock contractor, John Walker of 1 South Molton Street, London post . This type of clock was usually mounted externally hence the need for using Teak in the case construction, the movement has six spoked wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power and a deal pendulum rod with a cast zinc cylindrical bob which is suspended from the backboard, this is a impressive clock standing 85 inches tall so can't always fit the modern houses ceiling height ! Antique Mahogany Cased Arch Topped Bracket Clock, Circa

Antique Mahogany cased arch topped bracket clock, with some lovely inlaid detailing, circa ’s. This clock is marked Made in England, but has a look of the German manufacturer Gustav Becker about it. The front has thick bevelled glass which opens to winding holes on the easy to see white dial. Below the dial is a lovely detailed inlay of a rough diamond shape with what looks like a crest of some sort. The clock is raised on brass bun feet. This used to belong to my grandparents. It has a nice sounding gong from what I remember though I haven’t tested it. I believe it still works, but it might need a little TLC to get it back into good working order. Certainly all the bits are there! The case in in very good solid condition. It comes with a winding key and pendulum. Approx. dimensions – Width at bottom 9” Height 12 ½” Depth from bottom 5” These are all approximate sizes. There is a slight etching on the back of the inside cover which from what I can make out says A M. A beautiful clock for someone to own.

Antique chiming wall clock. I bought this from an antique shops in Neath in the s. The shop owner told me it was fully restored. As I really wanted one I paid over a ton for it. He was a big liar as it has never seen any restoration whatsoever as a good friend who restores clocks told me at the time. That said it does work keeping reasonable time for a clock of its age. The chimes which are quite beautiful chime at every quarter of an hour. It is missing a decorative piece at the top and the finial at the bottom has become detached but only needs glueing.
