SUPERB AND RARE, very beautiful postal item in perfect condition.No. 29 B, Napoleon Third Lauré Empire, 20 c. lauré, Rue Taitbout seal This letter was carried by the balloon "La Ville de Florence" during the war (Siege of Paris). I left from Paris,from the "Champ de la Glacière" on the Boulevard d'Italie, travelled 30 km, flying over Prussian troops who were besieging Paris, to land 1 km from Vernouillet.This balloon carried 120 kg of postal items, 30 kg of leaflets dropped on the Prussians, and 3 carrier pigeons.The letters carried could not weigh more than 3 or 4 grams (thin paper and no envelope).
