Large Catappa Indian Almond Leaf (cm) for Freshwater Aquarium Shrimp (Kenilworth, Warwickshire)
Small freshwater shrimps originate from waters in Taiwan and Hong Kong, where they are found to congregate around leaf litter. I buy larger batches of these leaves for my tanks to save on costs, so have a few to spare every month. The benefits of Indian Almond (Catappa) leaves in particular are widely publicised, the main benefits being biofilm availability, disease prevention, stimulation of breeding, and a slight natural lowering of pH (increased acidity). Shrimp will eventually eat all of the leaf except for the stalk end. I always have 1 leaf in each of my nano tanks. Pour boiling water over the leaf and leave to cool, then repeat this one more time. Generally 1 large leaf for each 50L, or cut pieces accordingly for nano tanks. Item located in Kenilworth, near the castle, just south of Coventry. Feel free to call/text me on to confirm a viewing.
