Classical guitar tutor located in South West London. I have been teaching since i was 16 and currently studying 3rd year in Cardiff University. Student can either learn for fun or prepare for exams. Past students have passed their exams with ABRSM with grade 4 merit. I have personally performed in music concerts,pubs, schools and ensembles, this includes Kingston Grammar School and Purcell Music School. I have obtained grade 8 classical guitar ABRSM and also competed in North London music festival and won 1st prize in Classical Guitar section back in . I believe that all student has the potential to become a fantastic guitarist. This of course will come with practice and hard work! I charge £20 per hour and would strongly recommend student comes for one lesson a week unless preparing for exams i would recommend twice- three times a week. I prefer not to do 30 minutes sessions as i believe its not enough time for the students to pick up any valuable skills within that short amount of time. I will provide homework for student each week to ensure the new skills they've obtains will not be lost and to prevent any unnecessary relearning. I hold a degree in guitar performance at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil and I pursued my postgraduate studies in music at the University of Bristol where I earned both my doctor and master degree. Since I have been a Senior Associate Teacher in guitar at the music department of the University of Bristol and in I joined Bristol Plays Music as a freelance music leader. My approach to teaching differs from conventional schools and colleges in so far as I do not follow a rigidly structured syllabus. Neither do I expect students to learn to read music as a lot of music for the guitar can be played using chord charts and a system known as tablature. I spent a number of years studying classical guitar with a tutor from the Trinity College and I have a Teaching qualification (Certificate in Education and Training parts one and two) also known as a Further Education Teacher's Certificate. I gained most of my playing experience on the 'folk' scene and I use the folk learning process in my lessons. I have attended a wide range of music workshops at folk festivals and the approach to teaching in these sessions is very much hands on and this is the method I employ in my music sessions.
