I have an enhanced DBS check and full public liability insurance. Working as a professional classical guitarist since , I have extensive professional practice experience of performance in a variety of settings and work both as soloist and in duets such as flute and guitar. My main interest is in Latin American guitar music but I am also very familiar with the Western guitar repertoire that covers renaissance, baroque, romanticism, classicism, Spanish and contemporary composers. In the UK, I have played at many universities where I delivered lecture-recitals, such as the University of Huddersfield; the University of Bristol; King's College, and the universities of Hull, Newcastle and York. In July , I played solo pieces and accompanied the Bristol Cabot Choir in their summer concert, and in January I played in an innovative concert mixing guitar and organ music. In , I performed a solo concert at the foyer of the prestigious Colston Hall in Bristol. I have currently finished writing a solo guitar album Emotional Acoustic Guitar for the label Minim. TEACHING STYLE I am a very enthusiast guitar tutor. I love to motivate my students in developing their performance abilities by making them aware of their own voice as performers. I do not want student to copy my own interpretations. Instead, I want them to think creatively in the concept of their own interpretations. Although I tend to have an influence in their chosen repertoire I am also very flexible. I often support my students to focus in particular genres that they are interested to develop as guitarists. I have successfully helped students to achieve the following outcomes: 1) Develop and display technical fluency and interpretative skills 2) Prepare and present solo public recitals with confidence 3) Identify and develop strategies for improvement of technical weaknesses 4) Extend knowledge of repertoire and associated technical/ musical requirements 5) Refine interpretive insight and its application to a high level 6) Discuss, and where necessary apply, historically-informed performance styles 7) Discuss performance issues confidently and in an informed manner 8) Perform effectively in an ensemble context (in the composition workshops and, if appropriate, in chamber music groups) 9) Discuss notational and performance issues with composers (in the composition workshops) 10) React positively to constructive criticism 11) Address personal development self-critically OPERATIONS I teach from my home studio in Bedminster. Parking facilities available.

Guitar, bass and drum lessons in Bristol from local musician

Competitive rates, all ages. Complete beginners more than welcome. My mission is to get you playing the guitar, bass guitar or drums (and most importantly ENJOYING IT) as quickly as possible! My lessons are tailored to the individual - I appreciate that people learn at differently and I am happy to speed up/slow down/change tactics so you can learn at a pace that suits you. It's up to you how much theory we go into - if your main intention is just to PLAY I am more than happy to accommodate you! AVAILABILTY - MON-FRI . SAT . PRICES GUITAR/BASS/DRUM LESSON AT YOUR HOME - £10 per hour first lesson, £20 p/h second lesson onwards. If you do not have a guitar/bass of your own I can bring one with me for you to use at no extra cost. Please note I can only do drum lessons at your house if you have your own drum kit and very understanding neighbours! GUITAR/BASS/DRUM LESSONS AT STUDIO - £20 per hour first lesson, £30 per hour second lesson onwards. This extra £10 per hour covers the cost of a fully equipped rehearsal room - all you will need to bring is yourself. Please note I cannot currently run studio sessions on weekday evenings. I am also happy to teach for longer than an hour at a time at a slightly reduced rate - please e-mail me for more information. I have been playing bass, guitar and drums for over 15 years now. I started on bass (thinking it would be easier as there were less strings and I wouldn't have to learn chords!) but eventually couldn't help myself and got a guitar and then a drum kit. Initially I didn't take any lessons and tried to work everything out for myself. This worked to a degree but when a friend's Dad offered to give me an hour guitar lesson I learned more in an hour than I had in the previous year! I have played all three instruments in a range of bands over the years and have played shows all over the country. The bands I have been in have supported some fantastic international bands and have managed to release a number of recordings, some of which have been played on local and national radio (including a slot on Huw Stephens' Radio 1 show). For several years I worked as a guitar/bass/drum tutor in the past for Clive's Music Schools - a franchise that offered music tutorage to children and adults. I currently play drums in DOWNARD and guitar in THE BACKHAND JAGS and LANGUR.

Hello, I'm Thaddeus. I am a self-employed music teacher with 10 years experience in the UK. I studied, wrote, gigged, toured and recorded back home in America then in the UK and Ireland. When some of students in London recommended me to their schools, I jumped at the opportunity. Ultimately, I found that I prefer teaching privately. It is a far more productive learning environment plus we can have tea and biscuits! I bring all of my experience from inside and outside of the venue and classroom, to my lessons. I will also encourage you to effectively listen to various styles of music outside of lessons because it will help your appreciation and playing. And you may discover new music that you really like! I currently have students from age 4 to 54 and their abilities range from complete beginner to life-long musicians. We cover rock, blues, indie, jazz, name your genre...we'll have a go. However, if you have experience and want to focus more on genre-specific techniques, then we can do that too. Lessons can be for leisure, graded exams, GCSE and A-level students but I want them to be fun. I'm a 'multi-instrumentalist' so lessons can go beyond just tuition into playing or 'jamming' and creating some proper music together. Playing in a band is fun, rewarding and fires the interest of me and my students. Small group lessons are also an option. Lesson arrangements are flexible. Any day. Any time. As long as there is space available, I'll book you in. We can have lessons at your place or in my back room studio. We can meet weekly or fortnightly or whenever suits you. Teaching music is my job so my students are a top priority. I kindly ask for 24 hours cancellation notice on booked lessons. I can, in some cases, provide an instrument for lessons and can also offer advice for instrument purchase. And I have a squeaky clean CRB check. To book a lesson or if you have any further questions...Please feel free to give me a ring, text or email (with No Obligation)... Still unsure...? I have many references that you can contact. Just say the word! £15 for 30 minutes £25 for 60 minutes I will guarantee your satisfaction at the end of our first lesson - or you don't have to pay!
