Chippendale style Mahogany armchair.
Carved back with an acorn cresting, the vase shaped splat with C-scrolls flanking a foliate carved stem, the scroll arms on shaped supports, the stuffed slip-in seat on carved cabriole legs ending in claw and ball feet. Date Early 20th century. Height. Seat Ht. 39inches. 17inches. Depth 19inches Width 23inches Extra Notes This handsome armchair is likely to have originally formed part of a set of dining room chairs. It appears to be of mahogany despite the carved acorn cresting and leaves to the back depicting oak motifs. The design is inspired by Thomas Chippendale seat furniture of the eighteenth century.
