Publisher London/Cassell & Company, [c]. 'Folio size "x", each volume has very thick vellum cream cover front and back, illustration of Gadshill on front, staple bound, dark red taped spine. Each volume has 16 pages and 3 tissue-protected black and white photogravure plates of Dickens characters, plus title page in volume 1, making 98 pages and 18 plates in all. Numerous engravings in text and narration throughout on Dicken's life. Each volume individually wrapped in original dark grey postal paper, some strung, addressed, bearing 4x1 penny Victoria stamps, franking dated .
