This colourful Karabakh/Russia (contemporary Azerbaijan), depicts the biblical history of the sacrificing of Isaac by Abraham. This Karabakh wool carpet probably comes from the 20s and is knotted on a cotton base fabric. Even though the number of knots is not particularly high, the image is easy to recognise. The carpet manufacturers from this region were mostly Armenian families.
