An almost ready to go Jamet Louisiane trailer tent

We bought this TT as an experiment after camping for the past 31 years in a succession of larger and costlier tents. We’re not sure if a TT isn’t too much for just the two of us, so we’re selling this one while we think about it. I’ll be honest about condition of the TT. We paid £280 six weeks ago as the canvas has mould stains. We’ve cleaned and washed what we can – particularly everything in the bed unit and steamed the mattresses and made sure the mould is dead. Condition of the waterproofing wasn’t mentioned, but I put two heavy coats of Fabsil Gold on the bed unit (roof and walls) then one good, heavy, coat on the living area canopy. Wish I’d gone for that second coat on the living ‘roof’ as it dripped. The bed area stayed dry and snug and the living area walls didn’t let any water through – that was after 82 hours continual heavy rain and gales up to 60 mph (gusted 80mph) in St Teeth, Cornwall. Didn’t think the TT would survive, but it did without any damage. We just threw a big blue tarp over the living area to keep rain out (glad we bought tie-down straps before setting out) and had a comfortable two weeks camping. Kitchen unit is in VG condition, one leg-hinge had been replaced with a length of aluminium, so it’s a case of undoing a screw to fold/unfold legs. Just noticed the mud wall by the front door has a 6” split where the peg held whilst the winds blew, it’s an easy repair. Everything seems to be there, including both pup tents for under the beds, didn’t use them but they look okay. Poles seem to all be there but we had problem following previous owners colour coding (not as simple as he said) so we may have improvised a bit. I had printed off a copy of manual and pole layout so shouldn’t be a problem in future, just wish I hadn’t left them on my desk when we packed - DOH! Trailer is in very good condition, tows fine but no spare wheel, has one good tyre while the other could do with changing. Electrics work, rear lights mismatched but the other new one is in the storage box so just fix it on – we weren’t bothered. We’re asking £230 as we paid £280 then £80 on Fabsil. Another coat of Fabsil should do the trick – but it might take two or three. I’m going to suggest the TT should make an easy project for a family holiday and will happily answer any questions I can with honesty, but due to price I can’t offer any guarantee. Read More

Jamet Liberty Trailer Tent (Forerunner of the Trigano Alpha)

Very nice Trailer tent with raised King size bed area, which now has Ikea slats fitted and gives a great nights sleep. This also provides lots of storage underneath. It has a large awning to sleep extra if you like, the top of the trailer unfolds to become the hard floor of the main tent, it can be used for over night stops without the awning/sun canopy. There is a slight bend at the top of one of the poles of the main tent, but this does not affect the tent in any way. It has a large locking storage box on the front a-bar Lift off Gas Hob with grill which also has a sink and drainer and some storage. We are selling our Jamet trailer tent as we are moving home and will not have space to store it with a car and a van to park on a newer small drive. 4-5 berth as has a double and a king size bed. Two cushioned benches with storage either side. Fully working electric hook up. The rear of the trailer comes off and is a working gas cooker and sink. Selling with waste bottle and gas bottle. Comes with an awning and ground sheet that doubles the size of the tent. Will sell with table, pots, pans, plates, kettle and utensils if you need them so it is ready to be used from collection. The trailer tent has been enjoyed for the last few years by our small family of four, we have sometimes had friends come and put their tent up inside the awning too. It is clean and all in good working order with minor age related parts that have been fixed such as the legs for the cooker/sink have been taped up as were falling down due to wear on the hooks that hold them up. This has never been an issue to us and they are still in good working order to hold up the sink/cooker when taken off the trailer. The inner tent has recently been re-stitched to hold it tightly in place as it was taken down to wash and was sagging a bit. This has all been rectified and it is clean, tight and good to go.
