Loads of space, stands out from the crowd, sleeps perhaps 10. It has a bath tub design zipped in groundsheet which will keep you dry, but also allows the sides to be rolled up on a hot day. Stand out at a festival or campsite in this fabulous tent! It is sadly time to say goodbye to our Dewitt Atlanta 6-birth pyramid tent - the children in the photo have now left home and we have moved on to one more suitably sized! Bought approximately 15 years ago, it has done us proud on a number of family holidays. Sleeping under cotton is a pleasant experience - cool under a hot sun, and with its sewn in ground sheet (approx 4m x3.9m in size)and multiple pegs it feels very stable in beating rain and howling gales. It is easy to put up, with only one central pole and a two simple frames at the front. The disadvantage is it is LARGE and HEAVY to store. The main bag weighs about 36kg and I can just about get my arms around it to lift it vertically. As the ground sheet is sewn in, the tent has to be dried as a whole if it gets wet - it is helpful to have a decent space undercover at home to dry it out. Having been kept in a dry attic, in my opinion it is still in great condition. For Sale: Geodesic Dome: Bargain at £777 A super easy to assemble, and lovingly crafted geodesic dome, in the shape of an icosahedron. The diameter is 5 metres. Plenty of space to stand up inside, and super strong due to the wooden 4x2 beams. You can even sleep in a hammock hung from the beams! The wall is one piece of thick green canvas, and the roof a thick cream waterproof material, which covers the wall canvas snugly. There is a clear roof section at the top. Perfect for English summers. The 4x2 lengths are fitted together using short lengths of drainpipes. It's a fantastic design! In addition to the main photo is the triangular shaped door, made from 12mm plywood and with handmade door handles. I also have a small woodburner (made from a gas bottle) if you wanted to install it yourself, for an additional £50. It would just need a hole cut in the roof, and a flashing kit. This yurt is from Mongolia, I have several colours (Red, blue, and green) and buddhist inspired designs on the doors. The doors have windows in. 1. The 6 metre yurt has 5 lattice walls (khana) which connect together to make up the circle. 2. 66 roofing poles (Uni) then attach from the lattice to the Crown (Toono) in the centre. 3. The Crown is supported by two central supports called the Baganna. 4. The roof is then draped with a cotton layer for presentation purposes 5. 5 pieces of insulation (2 for the roof and 3 for the walls) are laid over the structure. 6. Finally our waterproof cover is applied (this is the only part not from Mongolia) It is bought especially in from China as it is a much better waterproof layer. 7. The skylight cover is fixed on top. If a stove is desired I can install a Salamander Hobbit stove £ which includes all flue components. We are also able to build bases if required.
