Stand out at a festival or campsite in this fabulous tent! It is sadly time to say goodbye to our Dewitt Atlanta 6-birth pyramid tent - the children in the photo have now left home and we have moved on to one more suitably sized! Bought approximately 15 years ago, it has done us proud on a number of family holidays. Sleeping under cotton is a pleasant experience - cool under a hot sun, and with its sewn in ground sheet (approx 4m x3.9m in size)and multiple pegs it feels very stable in beating rain and howling gales. It is easy to put up, with only one central pole and a two simple frames at the front. The disadvantage is it is LARGE and HEAVY to store. The main bag weighs about 36kg and I can just about get my arms around it to lift it vertically. As the ground sheet is sewn in, the tent has to be dried as a whole if it gets wet - it is helpful to have a decent space undercover at home to dry it out. Having been kept in a dry attic, in my opinion it is still in great condition. Cotton has natural waterproof qualities, but the tent would probably need some reproofing before testing the canvas in heavy wet conditions Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit

Cabanon Isabelle Cotton Canvas Ridge Tent

I have for sale a lovely example of a Cabanon Isabelle cotton canvas tent. If you are like me and prefer the quality and materials of traditional camping, then you’re likely to love the Isabelle. This one really is in first class condition and has always been stored and packed away completely dry. The outer canvas has maintained it’s rich green colour without fading. There might be the odd mark from birds flying over but this is minimal and best left to the rain to deal with. It is a nice ridge pole design using a full cotton inner tent with mesh ventilation door, supported by 3 steel legs. This is good because it means the entrance uses an ‘A’ frame, allowing the door to be kept clear of a central pole. The cotton inner has a bath tub style sewn in groundsheet which is very waterproof and helps to keep the insects out. I have pitched this on top of another groundsheet which I recommend to help keep the sewn in groundsheet protected and clean. The tent allows the option of zipping on a front extension plus a zip on bell end (both included) so there are various configurations possible. If for instance you wished to use it for a weekend camp and arrived late, the main tent section could be put up with the zip on bell, then the extension could be put up the following morning if required. The extension includes vertical poles and guy lines that allow a side to be raised and used as a sun canopy in hotter weather. The Isabelle’s are relatively rare in the UK although I have seen a couple listed during . This one has only had 3-4 weeks of use during its lifetime so everything is in super condition. Cabanon Montpelier tent. Canvas outer, Spring linked steel poles, sleeps 6. Dimensions are 425 cm wide by 520 cm long. Used only once, selling due to ill health. Immaculate condition. This is the Rolls Royce of tents and will give 20+ years of camping and stands up to any weather unlike nylon ones. Easy to erect in 30 mins. Blue and Grey. Nothing to go wrong unlike modern tents, no blow up frame to puncture, no fibre glass poles to snap. No rustling in windy conditions so you feel like you are inside a crisp packet. No condensation either as canvas is a natural, breathable fabric that is 100% waterproof. We have seen countless nylon tents really suffer in windy conditions during our many years of camping but this tent will remain as solid as a rock and will be a safe home for you and your family that will be admired by other campers everywhere you go. The windows have proper curtains and you can even roll one down for cross through breezes whilst still having a mosquito net in place. The front can be rolled up to make an awning and provide easy access to the inside of the tent. It has a side door too which can be rolled back out of the way on hot sunny days or unzipped halfway to keep little ones inside safety whilst still getting fresh air. The roof lining is lovely as it just clips onto the tent poles and all the roof poles are then hidden away making the tent look luxurious. The kitchen area has curtains so you can cook and then just shut the curtains and hide it away. This would be very handy for keeping children out of the way from cooking equipment. There are two separate bed tents, side by side. One is a four berth with a roll up wall in the middle so you can either sleep four in there or two sets of two. The other bed tent is completely separate and sleeps two people comfortably. In between the bed tents there is a special pole you can clip on that makes a handy wardrobe pole that is hidden from view. The floor carpet is a breathable soft mat which is never cold on your feet and spilt drinks just drain away through the holes. It is washable and the only kind of mat that campsite owners like because it is breathable and does not make the grass die underneath it. This will be included as a free extra. We also have all the necessary equipment to sell eg, larder, tables, cooker and cooker stand, electric hook up lead and power box, electric mini oven, camping toilet, and other bits and pieces if you are interested in them too. Thanks for looking, the tent is a genuine bargain and you will never regret buying it if you want many years of luxury camping. It cost over £ new and I realise I will never sell it for anywhere near the cost price but my husband is disabled and in all honesty we will never be able to cope camping any more.
