Vintage Salvest mecahnical mantlepiece alarm clock in rare
This is a rare collectors' clock. A mantlepiece alarm clock by the German maker Salvest, mounted in a wooden surrounded concreted stone mosaic surround. The surround is almost rectangular, with straight parallel left and right sides, but with convex top and bottom sides. The winding knob for the alarm is missing, one can probably undo the winding knob from the main clock stub and use that, but I haven't bothered trying. The clock ticks and keeps time - but probably needs some attention, the hands and alarm can be adjusted. The alarm has not been tested. The hands are luminous and glow green in the dark after being charged by exposure to light (eg stored in a standard lit room). The clock proper measures 90 mm across. The surround is 200 mm wide and 175 mm high at its summit, and 60 mm deep at the base with the main surround housing the clock being 36 mm deep. Other dimensions may be seen in the last image. I am selling this as a collectors item, not as a reliable time keeper!
