BURLEY FREESTANDING 2KW ELECTRIC FIRE WITH REMOVABLE SPACERS FOR INSETTING.

Burley electric fire in excellent cosmetic condition, but please note, THE 1KW HEAT SETTING DOES NOT WORK, ONLY THE FULL 2KW IS WORKING. The fire has only ever been used on the 1KW setting as it was sufficient for our size room but recently when switching on it will NOT FUNCTION on that setting. The thermostat clicks but no heat comes out. I am not an electrician but I assume the 1KW element has gone and can be replaced if you know how (I don't)! The 2KW setting appears to work as normal, and boy does it throw out some heat and the thermostat appears to cycle as usual on that setting. We mainly used the fire for a focal point and just a quick boost to the room heating. If you are not too bothered about it only working on the 2KW setting or would only use it for the coal/flame effect it could be ideal. The flame effect is very realistic and the coal is REAL coal pieces. The coal is arranged on top of a moulded plastic container and the light shines through and flickers up the back of the fire and looks realistic. The fire is mainly all metal construction and has a hefty solid metal grate and pull out ash bottom panel, unlike the modern fires which are flimsy gilt coloured plastic. It can be used as a wall recessed fire or as in the photos with the spacers and placed flat against the wall. The fan is contained in the hood and blows out and into the room. This is a top quality Burley Electric Fire Basket (not to be confused with cheap chinese imitations this is made in the U.K) to fit in a 16 inch fire place, it is tapered to allow fitment for fireplaces with clay firebacks but can be used in any opening 16 inches plus, it uses real coal for that proper effect, the ight produces a lovely warming flicker effect & can be used by itself without any heat or with the any of the two heat settings, 1kw or very 2kw both are thermostatically controlled to avoid overheating, the heater has hardly been used at all as we only used this for the effect during summer when we didn't want to use our real open fire, reason for sale is we are having a cast log burner installed so then will have no need for this, it was over £250 new so is a bargain at only £40 (no offers please it is already priced at the lowest price) This does look truely stunning & has suprised visitors who all coment on how realistic it is.
