A drop leaf writing table in great Condition as can be seen in the photos, The measurements are: Height: 39.5" or 100cm Width: 16" or 41cm Length: 33" or 84cm Top drawer is 4" or 10cm deep Middle drawer is 51/4" or 13cm deep Bottom drawer is 71/4" or 18cm deep This 'IS' a used piece and as such there are some light scratches and the odd small mark but they really don't take much away from this lovely unit, even the Hinges are in good condition...as in the picture. This bureau needs a bit of restoration, as some bits of the veneer have come off (I have the bits). There is also a little bit of damage on the top. I have the keys for the main desk, and for the internal small cupboard. Vintage oak Bureau / writing desk with drop down leaf, This lovely elegant design desk is in very good condition.I have no idea of the age of this but assume it dates from at least the s / s as it has been in the family for as long as I can remember. But please make up your own mind about the age based on the photos and more experience than I have! We are selling this only as part of necessary down-sizing.It has been a treasured piece of family furniture and has been well looked after and regularly cleaned with furniture polish. As far as I can tell the wood is oak / oak veneer, but the back panel is just regular stained plywood.The exterior is largely unmarked - see photos. The lid is very slightly warped in that the top left corner doesn't sit as tight against the frame as the rest - see photo 3. The interior of the desk top has signs of use as would be expected (see photos), but the exterior is in very good clean, undamaged condition. The hinges and stays are in good working order. There are two original keys for the brass lock in the lid which also works perfectly.The drawers pull in and out smoothly.
