Vintage oak Bureau / writing desk with drop down leaf, This lovely elegant design desk is in very good condition.I have no idea of the age of this but assume it dates from at least the s / s as it has been in the family for as long as I can remember. But please make up your own mind about the age based on the photos and more experience than I have! We are selling this only as part of necessary down-sizing.It has been a treasured piece of family furniture and has been well looked after and regularly cleaned with furniture polish. As far as I can tell the wood is oak / oak veneer, but the back panel is just regular stained plywood.The exterior is largely unmarked - see photos. The lid is very slightly warped in that the top left corner doesn't sit as tight against the frame as the rest - see photo 3. The interior of the desk top has signs of use as would be expected (see photos), but the exterior is in very good clean, undamaged condition. The hinges and stays are in good working order. There are two original keys for the brass lock in the lid which also works perfectly.The drawers pull in and out smoothly. The handles show some signs of wear to the "brass" finish.The desk stands 95cm high x 42cm deep x 59cm wide. The writing flap measures 55cm wide x 28cm deep and is 69cm off the floor. £, Bristol,.

A drop leaf writing table in great Condition as can be seen in the photos, The measurements are: Height: 39.5" or 100cm Width: 16" or 41cm Length: 33" or 84cm Top drawer is 4" or 10cm deep Middle drawer is 51/4" or 13cm deep Bottom drawer is 71/4" or 18cm deep This 'IS' a used piece and as such there are some light scratches and the odd small mark but they really don't take much away from this lovely unit, even the Hinges are in good condition...as in the picture. This is a newly refurbished vintage writing bureau with storage space. This bureau has been painted in the specialist furniture Annie Sloan chalk paint in a beautiful shade of grey. The inside of the bureau and inside the drawers I have painted in a lovely contrasting shade of lilac.I have then sympathetically slightly distressed in keeping with the style of shabby "N"chic and then sealed to protect. The unit has three large drawers so plenty of storage space and all drawers have there original handles. The writing desk has two small drawers and shelving. This unit will also plug in to give the writing desk light and it also locks. This is a beautiful vintage bureau. A quality piece of furniture. Ideal as a work station or a lady's dressing table. This bureau has been lovingly, personally up-cycled: Chalk painted in Annie Sloan 'Paris Grey', subtly distressed, then finished with satin varnish. 'Work areas' (top and inside bureau) have had 2 coats for extra protection and durability. The back of the bureau has been fully painted and varnished.
