2 acres of field to share with 3 shetlands

I have a near 2 acre field at my home that is currently occupied by 3 shetlands (some chickens/ducks too!) they just cannot keep up with eating all the grass and it's a waste to mow it! The field is partially post and rail and part electric - the field is in extremely close proximity to the A14 so the horse/pony MUST respect fencing - I do plan on eventually post and railing all of it. I have an 8 x 8 shelter and a 16 x 12 shelter with lockable shed - open to ideas if you don't wish to share with my 3. Read More

Community Design: A Team Approach to Dynamic Community

Community Design: A Team Approach to Dynamic Community

ISBN: , SKU: , AUTHOR: Mehrhoff, W. Arthur / Mehrhoff, Authur W., PUBLISHER: Sage Publications (CA), Arthur Mehrhoff's Community Design represents a unique way of analyzing a community and the steps needed to help design a sustainable community. In this important contribution, Mehrhoff, through his work with the Minnesota Design Team, seeks to "help communities take control of shaping a sustainable future of their own by means of information, insight, and civic dialogue." He urges readers to rethink the shape and shaping of their communities by looking at "community" in a more holistic and multidisciplinary manner. Mehrhoff tackles such topics as defining community, understanding the history of a community, understanding the issues and problems affecting a community, examining the visual aspects of a community, and obtaining citizen opinion throughout the process of becoming a sustainable community. Small communities everywhere can replicate the process discussed in this book. Community Design is well written and thought-provoking and provides a nice blend of theory and practice. This book should be useful to all students, academics, local policy makers, and citizens who are interested in creating a common sustainable vision for their communities.

Here is a field shelter which was left in a heap in a farm field by previous owner. It was used as a horse stable but the previous owner just abandand it in a heap. There is some rot at the bottom of it but a diy enthusiast might be able to make it into a half decent shed. It would chop into firewood if all else fails! Read More

From Bilateralism to Community Interest: Essays in Honour of

ISBN: , SKU: , AUTHOR: Fastenrath, Ulrich / Geiger, Rudolf / Khan, Daniel-Erasmus, PUBLISHER: Oxford University Press, USA, This festschrift, dedicated to Judge Bruno Simma, traces the development of international law from regulating bilateral state-to-state relationships towards strengthening the entire international community by protecting human security, the global environment, and human rights. It provides both theoretical and practical insights into these sometimes conflicting goals, their basis in international law, and the role played by international institutions charged with upholding these values and interests. The work thus examines the mechanism by which international law contributes to the realization not only of individual State interests, but the interests of the international community as a whole. From this vantage point, it looks at the various functions that international law fulfils in the international community, from law-making and institution-building towards adjudication and the securing of human rights. Taken together, the contributions to this book paints a detailed, but nevertheless comprehensive picture of the realization of community interest in contemporary international law. As professor and judge, Bruno Simma has contributed to all of these tasks: providing ground-breaking theoretical work, serving in the International Law Commission and in the Committee for Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights, and finally, as a judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The three introductory chapters express this unity of life and work.

Official History of Britain and the European Community, Vol.

Official History of Britain and the European Community, Vol.

Official History of Britain and the European Community, Vol. II: This is the second volume in The Official History of Britain and the European Community, and describes the events from up until the British entry into the Common Market in .In , General de Gaulle dashed Prime Minister Macmillan&apos s hopes of taking Britain into the European Community (the Common Market). When Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson tried again, de Gaulle again said &apos no&apos. Six years later, Prime Minister Edward Heath took Britain into the EEC. But by then the country was split and Harold Wilson, to keep the Labour Party from voting to leave, undertook to renegotiate Britain&apos s membership. When Labour won the election that renegotiation culminated in the first nationwide referendum ever held in the United Kingdom. The British people voted by two to one to stay in the European Community, but British membership has been controversial ever since. This is the story of why three very different Prime Ministers all concluded that, in the British national interest, there was no viable alternative to joining the Common Market. In the words and documents of the time (those of politicians, diplomats and journalists from Britain, France and Germany) it relives the frustrations, successes and humiliations of British politicians as they wrestled with the most important issue of their generation. It shows, with the authority of the Government papers of the day, where and why today&apos s European controversy started and why yesterday&apos s challenges, and the way they were confronted, hold valid lessons for our time. This book will be of much interest to students of British political history, European Union politics, Diplomatic History and International Relations in general.

A Quarter Century of Community Psychology: Readings from the

ISBN: , SKU: , AUTHOR: Revenson, Tracey A. / D'Augelli, Anthony R. / French, Sabine E., PUBLISHER: Kluwer Academic Publishers, Within the field of psychology, community psychology specifically challenges traditional ways of thinking by considering people as embedded in ecological systems. It also recognizes that the links between persons and settings may be as important as either factor alone. Many of the important writings in this field have been presented in the American Journal of Community Psychology. As such, the intellectual history of community psychology has been presented in this journal. This work contains original research from the first 25 years of the journal, selected to reflect community psychology's rich tradition of theory, empirical research, action, and innovative methods. The articles included reflect both the enduring values of the field and data that sparked the field to move forward. This volume will be of interest to community mental health workers, social science and social work researchers, health care professionals, policy makers, and educators in the fields of community and preventative psychology.
