Black beaded bag with silver clasp, -"half mourning"
Click here to view this lot The silver clasp of the black beaded bag with some white symbolism is created by a yet unknown silversmith and is probably offered for verification in in Amsterdam. The still unknown silversmith has placed its mark very clearly; It's either "NH" above 2 stars or "HN" under 2 stars. Beaded bags are typical 19th century and were first imported from South Germany in all kinds of colours. Later the ladies knitted them themselves. This bag is typically knitted here, after all, with only black and some white beads the owner showed "half mourning" due to the loss of a third-degree relative, such as a cousin. The beaded bag has two compartments and measures 7.7 x 13,5 cm. It weighs a total of 70 grams. Such a bag - for use as wallet or for storing small female items - was not carried out with a carrying chain. It was stored in larger bags or in a pocket of the undergarments.Perfectly preserved, silver good and notice can be read.Shipping: registered and insured.Click here to visit Catawiki Read More
