Seagull Silver Century Outboard for Sale

This is an old Seagull engine circa The engine number is SP.J8 which indicates that it is a Silver Century 4.5 HP standard shaft engine. There is a lot of information on various web sites (see Saving-old-seagulls) and apparently there are anomalies in the engine numbering so you buy it as seen. I took it in exchange for a debt 20 years ago and know nothing about it. I have now decided to clear out my garage and have no time to recommission it, so it is for sale as spares or repair. It turns over and seems generally OK. I believe it was a runner when I got it. These small engines were used to drive fairly large boats at relatively low speeds and are ideal for canals and tenders etc. Cash on collection please. I may be able to deliver. Read More

I recently cleaned the magneto points & carburettor and put in fresh fuel & oil mixture and it started up. It needs repair or replacement of the throttle lever (a temporary fix has been made), replacement of propeller split-pin, and it has surface corrosion. It comes with a sturdy mounting bracket.
