It has a waterproof cover which is in a zipped pocket at bottom of bag. It has waist strap and sternum strap. 5 pockets and two large mesh side pockets, plus it has compression straps on the bottom pockets and compression straps for the top larger pockets. The zips flow smoothly and are larger than some backpacks. All in all it's a great backpack, but it is on the large size of 30L (I bought a Karrimor 30L which is more like a 25L), and as I only day hike I think this is more suitable for week-ends. Bought wrong size fridge in error, but can't send it back, due to scratching the door trying to get the unbelievably adhesive sticker off ! (See last pic). Also, changed the door from left opening (as in pic from ao website) to right opening, before I realised the size was different to the one I was replacing. I needed a 50cm wide, this one is 55cm.
