Border collie puppies for sale, ready to leave at the end of November. These are from a great working line and the behaviours of their parents show this. Would be great to train for any purpose, very intelligent dogs. Originally, the mother was from a working farm background, but lives now on a nature reserve with goats where no sheep are present and thus just lives a free range happy life. However you can see in the way they eye up the goats, they would make great sheep dogs. The dad, if we were to train him would make a great working dog, he has the behaviours for it and I am sure the pups will too! These puppies are raised on a raw food diet and it would be great if anyone buying these look into this before considering purchase. They are the healthiest little pups and by putting them onto dry/canned food might be detrimental to their health seeing as they have never adjusted to such food. Raw diet is pretty simple... we feed them raw chicken bones (easily found in frozen bags from tesco) and from the local butcher we get a pet mince which is organ and muscle meats to create the whole balance of what they would have eaten in a fresh kill. Alternatively you can feed them muscle meat and organ meat whole. Eventually we will be feeding our dogs from our own livestock through our efforts to become fully self-sufficient. Please know what you are getting into before buying a collie pup, they are very interactive and intelligent and need a lot of stimulation to keep them content. If they will be cooped up in a flat all day this is not suitable for such breeds, they need plenty of excersize and interactions. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to get in touch. The pups will need micro-chipping before 8 weeks of age, and this I will get done at the expense of the buyer, this should be approximately £20 at most. I have yet to look into this as the pups cannot be chipped till 6 weeks of age. If I can find somewhere local to me to do it for free then there will be no extra charge. The mother, farther and grandparents are all working dogs and have worked both cattle and sheep. I would like the pups ideally to go to farms to be working dogs like their mum as she enjoys working with our cows so much. Nell the mum (picture included), is a really great dog, we got her as a pup from a farm where both her parents worked with cattle and sheep, she has a lovely nature and is great with kids. We have one female border collie still available. She is 8 weeks old. We had a litter of 7 pups. They have all been reserved except for one which we held back. She was stood on by her mum in the whelping box at 4 weeks old. She had what the vet called a greenstick fracture. Green stick fracture is like a bend in the bone. Like a new branch which would bend rather than snap (as it was explained to us)! We withheld her from sale to see how she gets on. She is now running around on it and is likely to make a full recovery. She is happy and healthy and her tail is always wagging. She is weaning well.
