This lovely Paragon Fine Bone China from the s in the "Glorie de Dijon" design started life as a 12 place tea set (tea cups and saucers and plates) with two bread and butter plates. Sadly over the years two teacups and four tea plates have been broken. However the remaining pieces of the set are all intact, no cracks or repairs. It is a delightful pattern with gold rims.

A Beautiful Vintage Colclough Bone China tea set 6 cups 6 saucers 6 plates History of The Colclough China Company The Colclough china company was founded in by Herbert Joseph Colclough, who was an ex-Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent. Mr Colclough was a very conscientious man who loved his pottery and was known on occasion to stay up all night next to his kilns, which he had packed, so that he could be the first to see the new designs when they emerged. After expanding his company, he moved to the Vale potteries in Longton and was honoured when in he was visited by King George V and Queen Mary who gave royal licence for the company to produce Royal Vale china. Colclough ChinaIn the 's Colclough China Limited was expanding fast and it was then that they started to produce the tea and dinner ware that we know today. They were the first company to produce fine bone china for the every day market which was marketed by the piece, ruling out the need for large sets to be purchased first. In , Colclough China Limited took over Booths and Adderley and then in the early 's merged with the Ridgeway Company. Colclough and Ridgeway became part of the Royal Doulton Group in the early 's. Lovely 'New Chelsea' Bone China Tea Set for pieces in

This is a very pretty 's tea set in bone china made by New Chelsea. The pattern has no name but is a floral pattern with gold trim, number , and should be recognisable to anyone who already has this pattern. There are ten plates, saucers and cups, to make the set, with one plate, two cups and three saucers spare. There are thirty-seven items in excellent condition, with a second cake plate shown in the photo which has a crack. There are two slightly different sizes of plates, showing a slight variation in the pattern, which were purchased later to replace breakages. Although the same size, some of the saucers also show this pattern variation. The 37 items have no chips, cracks or crazing, dimensions are: - 8 x side plates 6 3/4" diam 3 x side plates 6 3/8" diam 1 x cake plate 9.5" diam 13 x saucers 5 5/8" diam 12 x cups 3 5/8" diam x 2.5" high There is also a milk jug with a tiny (1/16") chip on the spout: - 3 5/8" high x 4 5/8" spout to handle I am asking £50 for the 37 undamaged items and the milk jug. The cracked items can be supplied if required at no charge. Buyer collects, or I can double box pack and send by carrier.
