For sale a Borg Warner "VELVET DRIVE" gearbox/drive unit, came off a Ford V6 (Ford Essex marine engine.) 1/1 drive Number Serial number This advert is for the Velvet drive unit only and doesn't include the V6 Ford engine that show in a couple of the photo's. The V6 is available as a separate sale if you want it? Includes Gear shift mechanism, with cables and fittings, + all connections to fit a V6 Ford 3litre Marine engine. Also all connections for cooling the drive unit. This VELVET DRIVE unit, will come with the connecting pieces to couple it to the Ford V6 3 litre engine, but it will work with most inboard boat engine, with direct drive to the propellor shaft. For spares or repair- there is no reason why this will not work it has just been under my bench for a while there is a 2-1 reduction box to go with it which is stripped down and just needs rebuilding with new bearings and seals etc- I would think that these are one of the early or old type of gearboxes which as each day and week goes by the originals will become harder to find = if you already have one of these fitted then this would be a great back -up or would not take up much room to keep as a spare-it is Cash on collection from either Lymm Village, Cheshire, WA139PR, (near to the new Sainsbury store on Rushgreen road) or from Warrington, WA59SL, please check before travelling or I may consider a bank transfer and I can hand it to a courier providing that you rag anise it, local delivery may be possible and for any more information then please ask at almost any time x7 days Read More

Twin Disc MG502 marine gearbox I bought this a number of years back for a project which has long since gone, It has been in storage ever since but life has changed significantly in very recent times and I’ve given up the lockup I was using as overflow storage so this now needs a new home. It comes complete with oil cooler, and SAE mounting plate, the box has the down angle output shaft, and according to information I found online the output isn’t handed so will run at 2:1 reduction in either direction, but the input shaft needs an engine with a right hand rotation. I was sold this as working, I have no reason to doubt that it does, but I have no way of testing it, so if you buy this you do so on the understanding that it is untested and not guaranteed as working, which are exactly the terms I purchased it under. I found both an instruction manual and a workshop manual on line, if you search and come up with TADIESELS website you won't be far off having a similar amount of information. Collection only, although I’m happy to put it on a pallet (contribution for ratchet straps to fasten it down with appreciated) but I’m not organising the pallet firm that’s down to the buyer. (approximate dimensions 30x40x50cms and around the 50 Kg mark for weight) I also have a contact number for a ‘man with a van’ who’s patch seems to cover most of South West and a large part of the South of England, message me if you want his contact details.
