Mayland 20ft GRP Boat with Yamaha 9.9 High Thrust 4 Stroke Engine
20ft Mayland 2 Berth GRP with Yamaha high thrust 4 stroke electric key start with Yamaha remotes. I believe the boat to be mid to late 's. Maylands are strong and sturdy boats and are intended for multi use canal, river or coastal.New Boat safety May runs out May . Came out of the water May to be anti fouled (one coat of apoxy resin and 4 coats of anti foul applied) plus exterior cabin painted. The hull is in very good condition with very little sign of blistering (osmosis) as it spent most of its life on a trailor and was used for coastal fishing before purchase in Liverpool. Comes with all relevant paperwork transfer of ownership papers, and the engine comes with the original service book and manual. This engine has only had fresh water use. Has x2 sets of keys for both the cabin and engine. The sleeping arrangements are available by either two single or comfortable double v berth. Since I have owned this boat I have had a new canopy fitted and a complete 12v rewired and 240v system added. The interior has all been refurbished and lined with thermal water resistant covering, making it a very warm and cosy boat. I have also fitted a new 120 litre collapsible water tank in the bow (front pointy end) which helps keep her nice and stable in windy conditions. New 12v water pump and pipes. The bathroom has been extended to give a larger area with new sink and cold running water tap fitted plus porta loo. There are two twin 240v socket points plus 12v phone charger point. New 12v LED interior lights, new carpets. There is a 2 burner hob, with grill and oven cooker which has had a complete service with all jets removed, cleaned and reset by calor gas service engineer. Sink with cold water tap supplied by 12v water pump. There is ample storage for clothes, bedding, pots and pans etc. The helm (rear) has had a new 12v control panel and comes with 12v charging points, tech metre which gives revs and hours journey time. The helm also comes with a 240v fridge with freezer box, one twin 240v socket. Seating area with foldaway table and underneath storage and helm seat. Underneath the portside seat is the battery compartment containing one new 12v 110amp battery and battery charger. Comes with navigation light and spotlight. There is a 25 litre fuel tank which is stored in a compartment under the transom accessed by a drop hatch. There is a gas bottle which is stored in a cage to the outside of the boat to comply with safety regulations. Since owning this boat I have replaced the old engine with a newer (only two owners from new and regularly serviced by myself and previous owner) Yamaha 9.9 high thrust 4 stroke electric start which has the 10amp charging unit. It has a 33 hours running time (this may increase due to using the boat occasionally) since last full service which included all bottom oil seals and o rings, including top o rings and oil seals, gear box oil change, engine oil change and new filter. New petrol filter and new plugs impeller fitted. The engine is in very good condition as myself and the previous owner never left it in the water when it wasn't in use. The engine is more than happy tootling along at 4mpg on the canals or up to 12mph on the river. Petrol usage on a six day canal trip running for approx. 6 hours a day used just under 25 litres, which makes it very economical. On the rivers when you run at higher revs where you may use more fuel when you travel at higher speed. On a trip from Nottingham to Newark via river soar and Trent at 8mph there and back 25 litres was used. I found the engine very reliable, capable and economical to run. I have taken the boat out when the rivers have been in flood and both boat and engine has coped perfectly. I have done a two week cruise in the boat starting from Radcliffe on soar doing the Leicester circular via the Grand Union Canal then Oxford Canal and Coventry Canal and Trent and Mersey, back onto the Trent, and I found the boat cosy and comfortable during this trip, with plenty of CRT points along the way for showers, waste and water etc. I have also recently purchased a new 240v 800 watt 4 stroke invertor generator which has only been used by me once for 5 hours. The boat comes with new fenders fitted , all ropes and anchor, windlass, fire extinguishers, fire blanket, carbon monoxide and smoke detector. Every needed is included except for pots, pans, cutlery and bedding. This is a very economical boat to run and keep due to the size and engine. The only downside to the Mayland boats are a low cabin height but we have never found this a problem as we have made a dinning table in the helm. The cushions in the cabin although are covered by throws the main covers could do with recovering. Genuine reason for sale I have bought a classic older project boat which has taken more off my time than expected. All major works have been completed so there should be nothing to do to her for 4 years. In my personal opinion this boat is easy to handle for one person going into a lock or mooring up as a centre rope as been added. Please note the buyer will have to remove the boat within 7 days of purchase. There is still one months canal and river licence paid until the end of August. The moorings are non transferable as there is none available where Minnie is moored at Radcliffe on Soar, just off junction 24 of the M1. There are easy transport links via train as it is next to the East Midlands Parkway train station. Cash on collection. Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit
