Child's best friend

This lovely little lady will be up for sale soon. she is a 12.2hh bay roan show pony. unfortunately my kids aren't interested enough to have an extra pony. she will stand for hours letting the smallest of children fuss around her brushing her and picking her feet out and she leads out like a little lamb. she's a gentle little soul that needs to be doing something. over the past few years she has only been used as a lead rein pony this is why she's not for sale just yet. I'd like to get her going enough under saddle to give her the opportunity of finding a forever home. if she can grow with a child it would be perfect. she does unfortunately suffer with laminitis and as manageable as it is she needs to go to a home where it's understood that she's likely going to have to be stabled at night all year round. she has lived out 24/7 in the past and been strip grazed etc but I feel limited turnout on grass would be the best solution. here at home in winter we have a Woodchip turnout area and they can come in and out of the stables as they please therefore moving enough and interacting socially with each other without the need to be out at grass. she's been fine eating haylage with the rest of mine and is currently looking nice and lean. she is a fine pony in build so please no small adults to be full time riders she hasn't enough depth or width to take up an adults leg. I am just going right back to basics with her now and doing lots of groundwork to get her fit and into work mode. you are welcome to come and see her in the meantime to see if she might be suitable for you. homes will be vetted and more important than price. Wanted: New Best Friend

I'm 34 and I work from home. I live in Chellaston, Derby. I have two boys, 7 and 5. I haven't ridden since they were born, but I used to be proficient (can't say that I still am though!) I am looking to get back into the saddle now that my boys are in school. I am looking to start with a companion/light hacking horse - not out of being a novice, but because I was never one for jumping or shows! I was hoping to be able to take my boys out on a lead rein and hope that they catch the horsey bug so I can convince the husband that we NEED a horse:) I would like to ease us all back in gently so am only interested in horses that need/would like light riding/hacks rather than those preferring to work/jump as it wouldn't be fair on the horse to get loves and kisses all day if he prefers to run! I am looking ideally for a 14.5hh weight bearing Section D, or a 15hh+ of any other breed. My ideal horses are Shires or Clydesdales as that is what I used to ride when I was younger, but absolutely happy to consider any that need a bit of love. Spent the last year and half trying to fix him, spending thousands at the vets on bone scans, X-rays, blocks, MRIs... he was put to sleep due to the extend of the damage a short while ago. I'm seeking my new best friend, something that can stay with me for the rest of their life. I intend to do a bit of everything (jumping, dressage, happy hacking etc.). I'm happy for a project, but prefer that hes ok with busy roads (only way off our yard is onto main bus route). Would prefer no schooling as I like to do it myself.
