Bell Tent 4m ‘half-moon’ coir mat from Paul's Matting, used for one two week holiday before ‘it’s too scratchy’ moaning designated it to the loft. I loved it as it meant you didn’t have to worry about walking dirt in – dust, sand and other bits just filter through the mat to sweep up when packing but a less practical but softer alternative has been procured in it's place. Stand out at a festival or campsite in this fabulous tent! It is sadly time to say goodbye to our Dewitt Atlanta 6-birth pyramid tent - the children in the photo have now left home and we have moved on to one more suitably sized! Bought approximately 15 years ago, it has done us proud on a number of family holidays. Sleeping under cotton is a pleasant experience - cool under a hot sun, and with its sewn in ground sheet (approx 4m x3.9m in size)and multiple pegs it feels very stable in beating rain and howling gales. It is easy to put up, with only one central pole and a two simple frames at the front. The disadvantage is it is LARGE and HEAVY to store. The main bag weighs about 36kg and I can just about get my arms around it to lift it vertically. As the ground sheet is sewn in, the tent has to be dried as a whole if it gets wet - it is helpful to have a decent space undercover at home to dry it out. Having been kept in a dry attic, in my opinion it is still in great condition. These have been used for my ex hire business and are in a good condition. originally these were purchased from Boutique Camping and their supplier Paulls Matting so are the best quality, retailing at £149. Half Moon coir matting: Whether you are looking for something that is more hard-wearing or just something a bit more decorative these mats are an excellent addition to your bell tent. This coir half moon matting is made from an incredibly durable and insulating fabric. The matting is made to excel in our bell tents.
